4 1/2 months ago, one of my cats had 5 kittens
which she abandoned after about 3 weeks.

I bottle fed the kittens for 3-5  weeks

One of the babies became "comatose-like"
after every feeding.... she did this for
about a month and finally, seemed to grow
out of it.  She is also a great deal smaller
than the other 4 kittens... smaller by at
least 1 pound

over the past 6 weeks or so, she has become
increasingly hyper and aggressive...

Her eyes are always very wide open and she

seems hyper vigilant - she runs about constantly,

always looking for something to attack.

my poor husband is being scratched to pieces...

Missy will jump up on his bare legs and hang on

with her claws out... or run up his back, holding
on with her claws

Missy also holds her much larger sisters down
and beats the snot out of them...

I am able to hold her and calm her - briefly

is there anything that I can do = feed her?
to calm her down....Or anything that I need to

keep out of her diet?  I really want to keep
her in our family. ...and,  the  destructive
behaviour is only getting worse.

At 4 1/2 months, she may have gone into heat.  If she hasn't been spayed yet, I'd get that done as soon as you can.  Ditto for the others - they are plenty old enough.

When she attacks you or your husband, you can hiss right in her face, very sharp, very quickly.  It will startle her out of the behavior and give you a chance to reinforce it with a sharp "no!"

She sounds like she may be the runt but she's definitely the alpha cat.  Spaying and neutering them all will help.

You are awesome... I never even thought about that

Hopefully, they are going to the vet in the next week

or two...

None of my other cats ever behaved this way when

they were in heat....

I just kept thinking about the problems she had

from birth and that the two were somehow related.

Will let you know ;)

Big hugs

Karen
