Hello everyone,
I have two cats and they are siblings (male/female). They are a little over a year old. Pi (the male) is very energetic and loves to play....with someone. He use to be easy to play with and tire out to the point where he would start panting....but he still didn't want to stop. I personally believe he has decided that in order to prolong the play sessions he would play in a very lazy way. He doesn't really run after objects anymore like he use to but when he does run it's more a trot then a sprint. In regards to health he is perfectly healthy. Please note that I don't mind playing with him, it is just frustrating that he would lay there as though he is done playing and then within a minute of walking away he is meowing constantly to "play" some more.
His sister (Zeta) is a very normal cat when it comes to play sessions and she will sprint and jump after toys, etc. The problem I am having is that my male cat also loves to wrestle whereas his sister does not. This tends to lead to fights between the two. Other than this they get along very well.
I have bought big mice for him to wrestle with and stuffed socks with cat nip for him to wrestle with as well, but he tends to get tired of his toys very easily. I've hidden toys that he is tired of for weeks but when i bring them back out he remembers them...which doesn't make sense, i know.
So my question is...would it be a good idea to add another cat or two to this mix to stop the fighting? Hopefully I could pick out at least one who is just as energetic as he is and loves to wrestle as well. I'm thinking two so that the new kitten would have a sibling and not be the odd ball out. I'm also thinking of another male/female combo so that there is an equal number of both genders.
Thank you for your time
