The dishwasher?? Wonder who put it there.
My kids!  It goes to a set that you plug them in and it sings a song to teach them the sound of the letter.  Positively annoying after the first 15 times in a row.

Zip-lock bag; contains hair elastics for DD.
My daughter had that I definatley contribute the leap frog toy helping her learn the letters and their sounds. She is 9 now

Ours was a gift from my step-sister.  My nephew taught himself to read; she thinks that toy is what got him started so she sent one to my oldest when she was 2 or so.

...with the cats...
quite a few elastics, as in rubber bands.

i accumulate the ones that are put around my newspapers sometimes. i rarely need to use them, but have found them helpful when doing the wood stove chimney pipe cleaning (i use a rubber band to hold a trash bag around the bottom of the chimney pipes with just a very small opening, and use the chimney brush to clean the pipes -- the ashes fall right into the trash bag, so much less mess).
