Sophie has 3 bladder stones and bleeds but not all the time. The vet suggested S/D which Sophie will not eat. I force fed her for a short time but I was wearing more than she was getting. Switched to Royal canin canned food and she eats it but is this going to help the bladder stones or is she still going to face surgery? Please help I cannot afford surgery.

I hate to say it but: only time will tell whether the Rx diet will dissolve the stones or if surgery is the only alternative.
Is Sophie on pain medication and/or antibiotics?
I'm not familiar with stones, only crystals, but: what are the stones made of? I do think canned food (not dry) is really important, and try to get Sophie to drink as much water as possible (add some water to the canned food).

Thank you Ritz for your comment to my problem with my Sophie. My vet finally prescribed Royal Canin S/O for her. She definitely likes this food. No smell. The vet gave me Clavamox for Sophie but it foams out of her mouth. So much for that stuff. The stones are like kidney stones but only stacked on top of each other and are near the uretha. Still some bleeding going on and I can only pray she does not go into kidney failure. Want to avoid surgery if possible. She is my baby and I love her very much.

:As for the clavamox, it has a bitter taste. Pill pockets work really well. They are gooey and can easily be broken in half and smooshed around the pill.

Thanks for the update.
You might also try mixing the drug with some tuna fish water or baby food (meat + broth only).
I can't pill Ritz, so when she has to take medication, I have the medication compounded into a flavored liquid (bubblegum or tuna/chicken).
