My cat kiki just had kitten today and while in labor and before she wanted me to be with her and now that she has her babies, she sometimes will come out to the living room by me and meow till I follow her to my room (where her kittens are right now) and if I leave she comes back after awhile to get me. This normal? Kinda flattering in a cute way and I Dont mind but just wondering if anyone else has been through this.

Yes, its quite common.   A good human owner is a Mom person for them.

In the cats world its not unusual with such help, if they dont live alone on their own. May it be their biological mom, some sibling, a cat best buddy friend.  Sometimes even a intact male - as long as its their best friend since before. Neutered males are more common here of course.

Congrats to your new family!

My mama cat is the same way. She came to my bed to wake me up at delivery time then took me to her birthing box. The babies are 3 days old now and whenever I am home she comes and finds me meows, bites at my fingers when I am petting her then runs back to her box "asking" me to follow. She is happy if I will just sit in a chair where she can see me from the box. Even happier if I will reach in and pet her.

Welcome to the world babies! It was a awesome thing to witness, just like human childbirth and my baby kiki wanted me with her. I've never been/ had a bond like this with a cat before. Three prefect little kitties. So cute!! They were born the 23rd. Haha how ironic that they are born specifically on the 23rd day, my birthday is 8-23 and my daughters is 3-23. So funny lol

My Kiki girl had her kittens the 23rd and she has started shedding ALOT! I was wondering is it probably due to her nursing? or the fall weather. If it's from nursing, what can I give her if the kittens are taking so much out of her...

Its not the most common rapport.  So I was thinking some during the morning hours.

A couple possibilities.   Is she used to go outside / its usually rather chilly in your home, but now when she has kittens,  her room is warm and cozy?   This would get any cat to shred, as cats are building up their fur before the oncoming winter.

Second.  It may be stress.  Having babies is technically stressing by itself, but usually it doesnt cause a clerarly visible shedding.  May it be something else stressing her??

What food does she gets?  And how many kittens?   Are the kittens thriwing and adding weight as they should?

Please continue to observe and think aloud.  Perhaps we will find a clue.

Ohh okay I only thought that because my friend said that was why, but yes she's a former stray so that may be it. She had three kittens and they are growing pretty well, and she eats purina one. I don't see any other issues with her. She feeds them and is still lovable, she's  a good mom/girl :)
