My new british shorthair kitten is really bloated and has blood in his stool. Have taken it too the vets got give pro kolin plus which didnt work. Took him back again and now hes on a pill and special cat food from the vets. Anyone had the same problems with their kitten? Look forward to hearing from you guys

Welcome to the site :wavey:

Sorry you are having this problem with your new kitten.

Have you informed and asked the breeder that you got this kitten from ?
Has the vet taken a stool (faeces) sample to have further testing done ?
Has the kitten been wormed ?
Did you feeding the same food as the breeder was feeding ? Nothing different ?

yes he has been wormed. bought him from a pet shop and they said he was fine when he was at the shop. vets havent taken a sample as of yet. He is on the same food as he was on in the shop. Its called royal canin mother and kittens.

Have you seen any improvement with the new tablets and special food from the vets yet ?

I would really recommend having a stool sample done to rule out a few things like Coccidiosis, Giardia and Tritrichomonas foetus. ;)

yes, I have a kitten that has been treated with albon, and metronidazole that has diarrhea and bloating. fecal tests were all negative then someone suggested testing for tritrichomonas foetus and that was positive. so I would defintly look into it if the diarrhea doesn't resolve, my kitten was gaining weight, playing seeming healthy in every way except for diarrhea with a foul smell sometimes tinged with bloody mucus.
