We just adopted him about a week ago, he is 6 weeks old. The rescue thinks he is part maine coon but classified him as a dmh tabby.

Looks like a DMH to me, going by how my Maine Coon and her siblings looked at that age.
Oh I got confused you have 2 completely different questions on the title of the thread vs in the body. I think your kitten is a DMH that looks like a Maine Coon-Just like my cat. Full blood Main Coons are more long haired w giant paws and those glorious ear points. No reason he can't be part!
