Guys I put the treatment on my kittens at 3pm, it's now 8:15pm and I see fleas walking all over them like crazy. Does that mean is working? I need help to know they are really dying, I have OCD and this is triggering me really bad.

I'm not familiar with Activyl, I'm sorry. Maybe someone else is?

I pulled like 30 fleas out of both of them last night, and thus morning when I woke up I haven't seen any walking around them. I hope that stuff works, I panicked last night pretty bad, I really thought I was having a heart attack, I didn't call 911 because I felt they were gonna make fun of me because of just fleas... I had to wake up my husband to help me calm me down. I know this sounds silly but people with ocd gets this bad.

I'm not familiar with Activyl, but sometimes after using flea treatments you'll see them get more active before they die. If you don't see any more live ones today, it probably worked.

I have OCD too, and I'm sorry you had such a bad time, I know what that's like. It doesn't sound silly. Fleas can be hard to deal with.

I do understand, and I don't think it sounds silly. I'm sorry you had such a bad night. I always feel so exhausted after panic attacks. Glad the fleas seem to be gone!

My ex would get panic attacks in the middle of the nite and I would drive her to the er. So I know how scary they can be. The fleas can be controlled so don't let that overwhelm you. Have faith.

I just used Activyl for the first time, myself, 2 days ago. Seems to be working well, I just have to get the fleas out of the environment now.

I use Activyl on my kitty as well. It seems to be effective.

Here is more conclusive information, from the manufacturer's FAQ (http://www.mypet.com/activyl/activyl-faq.aspx):

Q. Why do I see more fleas after I have applied Activyl for Dogs and Activyl for Cats or other spot-on products?
A. Fleas tend to hide away unless disturbed. When Activyl starts to work, fleas lose coordination and will sometime move to the coat's surface. This may make them easier to see. Please don't worry; these fleas will die soon.

Q. Why can I still see fleas after I have treated my pet with Activyl for Dogs and Activyl for Cats or other spot-on products?
A. The fleas you see on your pet are fleas that have newly jumped from the environment on your pet. Those fleas will die soon. It is important to take a three-pronged approach to treating fleas. This is because only a small percentage of the flea population is on your pet. Most of the flea population exists as immature stages (eggs, larvae and pupae) in your pet's surroundings. Activyl is active against both adult fleas on your pet as well as immature fleas in your pet's environment, but it takes some time to clean out the flea population in the house. To help speed this process up, you should clean your house thoroughly (for example, by washing your pet's bedding and thorough vacuuming your pet's favorite spots in the house) to help reduce the number of immature fleas present.

If there is a serious infestation, it may take some time to control. But any fleas you see on your pet a few days to weeks after treatment probably represent re-infestation from fleas emerging from cocoons in the environment. Activyl lasts for 4 weeks and it is important to repeat treatment on time every month. At least 3 consecutive treatments are recommended for effective control of flea infestations on the pet and in the pet's environment, and continued treatment is needed to prevent your pet from bringing new fleas home.

Thank you guys for understanding and the great information. Now I feel like a silly person worrying to death about fleas. I just never had this problem, and I was so afraid my adult cat was gonna get infested too. Thank you guys again.

It is probably a good idea to treat all animals in your house, including your adult cat. Better to be certain that there are no fleas.

Don't feel silly. I can't imagine anyone welcoming fleas to their home with open arms
I hope you don't see any more, so you don't have to worry.

You might see some residual ones from eggs that start to hatch now.
But are they going to die? I bought that raid fleas tick spray and I just spray my house like crazy... I'm just really scared to have an anxiety attack when I'm all alone in my house.

If it's only a couple fleas now and again they should disappear in a few days as long as you treated your cats.

If you have an infestation where they are biting you (usually around the ankles) and there are dozens or hundreds then you will probably have to bomb the house with flea bombs.

Don't panic, it's probably just some hatched fleas. Flea larvae hatch when they sense movement, and they can wait for months to do so.
Wash all blankets, beds, etc. Vacuum, even under couches, and mop hard floors. Don't be upset if you see a flea or a few now and then. Keep treating your cats and the fleas will die off.
I treat my cats year round, even though they don't go outside, because fleas exist in the environment. It's like rain. Don't be upset, grab your umbrella.

Yes I spray al over the carpet and in the edges too. I'm just afraid now my cats will step on the wet poisoning carpet ugh... Lol I have issues sorry, everything seems like such a big deal when really isn't and it can be fixable, but my dumb brain tells me otherwise.
