I've had Meg since she was born, she's now 15 and 1/2.  She's generally in good help and most of the time acts like a kitten still.   The last 2 days though she has been sleeping a lot more and always in the same place.  When I pick her up and bring her up in the front room she looks wide eyes and scared and hissing at my other cats.    Nothing has happened with the other cats to scare her and all lived together for years.

She has been losing a little weight lately and gone very fussy with what she will eat.  She's only eating "posh" food now such as Sheba, roast chicken, Gourmet.   She's drinking still.

It's just this frightened look I don't like.  If I stand and cuddle her she will purr still and head butt me but the second I go in the front room or sit down with her she hisses at the other cats, cries like scared, wide pupils.

I am really worried she's developed cat dementia all of a sudden.  As I say the scared look and isolating herself only been the last 2 days.

I am taking her to the vets next week if no change in her as I am really worried.   She's showing no sign of being in pain anywhere, can hear me ok and see me.      Love her to bits and am so upset at how she is acting.  She's 15 but still my baby.

A health issue can manifest as a behavioral one, so I do think she should have a check-up at the vet with at least a physical exam and blood panel. Losing weight and all of a sudden being fussy with food also make me think a vet visit is warranted.
