I'm thinking of getting a cat door for our patio doors so the cats can go in and out as they please.

Maybe this one.

Or one like this.

The patio doors open on to the deck and from there they can get into their enclosure. I've been leaving the patio doors open for them , but it's going to be too cold to do that soon.

Anyone have a cat door like these? What do you think of them?

They work very well. I put ours in 7 years ago and they hold up. Only thing I would do different is get one that locks. There are times I want to keep them in or raccoons out so had to block it with something but a lock would make it easier.

We had one of those in a sliding glass door. It worked great. Ours had a slat that we could drop in to lock them in (and other critters out) when we wanted to.

Now, why would we put in a cat door for his Lordship when he has two doorpersons to hop to it when he demands - even before he demands?

We use one too - ours also has a flap cover that can slide in to 'close' their door.  Not that we use it as the whole thing is very easy to move, so we tend to just take it down at night (for our security), and put it back in in the morning.  Didn't take the cats long to work out how to use it.  We can now also put a mat at their entrance so that muddy feet don't trek the carpet.

It's still pretty darn cold with the cat door up in winter, as the gaps aren't totally sealed, but it is better than a sliding door standing open.  Also, it is great for keeping bugs out (except the ones caught outside and BROUGHT back inside as play things!!)
