Good grief, I really don't get it.  I get a lion cut but I don't get this at all.  The first thought I had was that some people have more free time and money then common sense.

Poor cat.

I think cats are perfect as they are, they don't need cutting and dying like this.

I agree. The poor baby looks miserable. Can you imagine what it's going to look like when the fur grows back in? A hot mess, that's what. That's a beautiful cat. It didn't need any help.

Poor kitty! She (or he) looks so confused! You can tell that this is a beautiful cat, underneath the bizarre shaving and food dye.

If you watch the video (link above the pics), there is a dog that is made up like a bumble bee.  Poor thing looks just as miserable.

I don't know why people do this.  Animals are aware of their appearance, as can be accounted by the stories of dogs/cats getting a summer cut and feeling great... until they come across a mirror.  This happened to our friends dog; once she saw herself in a mirror, she ran and hid behind the lazy-boy.  It took quite a bit of coaxing to make her feel good enough to come out "in public" again.

People don't give animals enough credit.

Totally agree, I hate it when people dye their poodles hair (and other breeds of course). A simple hair cut, fine... But this? It's wrong!

I can't get all upset about people grooming their pets like that---there are a million things that are so much worse. Why is it "wrong" to put some food coloring on a dog or cat, or cut their hair in a particular shape, if they need to be groomed anyway? They don't know the difference. I'd prefer people channel their outrage toward something that actually matters. Pets dying in shelters, maybe, or de-clawing. Not silly haircuts.

If I had a white dog I'd almost certainly chalk the dog fairly often. I think it's cool. And if I had a dog that needed grooming I'd totally get him/her a more creative haircut now and then. I like the clip that looks like a lion, especially if the dog is tan :D.

the look on the cat's face says it all "get me out of here...and i'm actually BEGGING for a bath to get all this junk off of me"

Poor Kitty.

I did not find this even the slightest bit funny. You want your kitty to look like a dragon? maybe buy a dragon costume....and if you can manage to get it on kitty...then there you go...voila. you got your kitty dragon.

I didn't even watched the video. Because that's what they're looking for.

They would do anything just to get views on YouTube.

Like someone said before some people do have more time and money to waste. They should dye themselves and see how it feels like instead of doing it to someone who can't speak for himself.

There are those stuffed toy animals to people that want to have a toy, no need to cause stress and trauma for a living being and that is what they have caused.

It is not even same to dye a human against his/her will, human can understand it is a color, cat can't cat will think fur has got dirty and can get really stressed for not being able to lick it back to normal.

Sometimes I think there would need to be tests that should be passed before having right to have a pet.

The salon owner better hope Russian Lord Putin doesn't like cats or they may find themselves shipped to Siberia.

Sure, there are worse things in this world, but this is weird!

Mr. Lumpy, the kitty in my avatar, used to have problem with grooming and keeping himself unstinky. We toyed with the idea of getting him a Lion Cut, but we never got around to it. He did get a "sanitary clip," which humiliated him I suppose, but too bad! He was stinky!

This type of grooming seems over the top, but if this is the worst they do to the kitty . . .
