I'm afraid I agree with Caralina on this... However, you should do what you feel comfortable with.

I forgot to update this.... They both still with me, I end up not giving him away.

I called my landlord in the morning to let them know I was keeping him, so she says okay so it will be $700 for both I said fine, the she asked it I have 2 cats total because that's the max we are allowed to have, something about insurance policy.... I had to said yes but now I'm afraid they will notice I have 3 cats... All this drama gives me big time anxiety and I feel like giving up.

And I feel that I should mention: most leases specify the pet charge, as being a "pet fee" or "fee per pet" (not the same thing). I absolutely would not pay the extra "late notice" fee without checking the lease. If you don't have a copy of your lease, the office is required to keep one. If they don't have it, you are on a "verbal contract", and they are up a creek.
It's very hard, nearly impossible in some cases, for a landlord to kick you out of your primary residence.
I lease to over sixty tenants. It's a long long battle, and expensive, to get them booted. I work with my tenants as much as a can, because the cost of filing against them in court is usually more than I have gotten in the first place.
You should keep peace, obviously, but I think you're giving money away if you put up with this.

Ok. Two pets max? Does it say that in your lease?
The insurance thing is b.s. Insurance doesn't care unless you have "dangerous animals" (aka pittbulls, shepherds). And most leases say the landlord's insurance doesn't cover that anyway.
I would read your lease carefully before forking over the money. Be sweet, be gentle, but be firm.
It would take me six months to evict someone, if I even could, even if they were running a dog fight ring. Tenants hold most of the rights.

You know, everything before was great. Only $200 pet deposit and that was for as many pets you want to have, but about 8 months ago the old landlord sold this property to someone else, and now that person seems very money hungry, I can't tell you how many people we have seen come and go just in the past year, probably like 20.

Did the new landlord have you sign a new lease? Did they assume the old lease contracts?

If you have not signed a new lease, then you are only bound by the lease you signed to the previous landlord, and they can eat it.

And I would definitely take them to the bench if they disagree.

I am very understanding with my tenants. I get really upset when I see landlords intimidating renters. That's not right. That's why the courts are stacked against us. That's why the I can't rightfully throw away the trash someone leaves, even if it's old soda cans and fast food wrappers, because some vindictive moron has to be greedy.

Ick. It makes my blood pressure rise.

Oh, that must be terrible, to be stuck with the consequences of the actions of you.. colleagues.

@GatitaBonita  Surely listen to what Karissima says. If you still have the old lease, you can just tell the new landlord to shove it. But more politely! ;)

Ok so the landlord let me have the 3 of them. I told him about the deposit and stuff, so I'm just gonna end up paying $300 only. I'm happy cuz they all get to be together.

Now I can't find names for them lol, any suggestions are welcome.

Just wanted to say congrats on getting to keep all three. Landlords are a hassle, but a lot of times you can sweet talk them. I had good luck getting into "no pets" apartments when I had a dog by doing the application and getting them to like me before I told them about the dog. ;-)

Anyway, I have two longhaired black kitties who are sisters who I love dearly, so I can really understand you wanting to keep your boys! Enjoy!

What changed her mind was my lease I signed when we very first moved in, which said as many pets we wanted. She realized She was in the wrong. But also She made us renew another lease with the new rules but I asked for a paper sign from them to say I'm able to keep my three babies. Its all good now. But we are trying to move out soon, maybe next year.

And thank u guys for the names. This might sound silly but I want to name one Barnaby and the other one Bamboo lol but I don't know yet.

My Bombi is a male cat btw. I'm worried because I don't want nothing bad happening you know. He is not mean to them I just noticed when the kittens are playing for a long time and making noises my Bombi goes and starts to grab them and carrying them into the room one by one. What does it mean?
