I was just made aware of some odd behavior of my cat tonight, apparently whenever I go out my back door she screams and cries. I have never heard it but my boyfriend says its extremely loud and far worse than her first and only heat.

Emma is 3 years old and strictly an indoor cat and always have been, we have had a dog for the past year and boyfriend says the behavior has been going on since before we got him.

Does anyone know what would cause this sort of odd behavior?

she's just letting you know she knows you are on one side of the door, and she is on the other side :)

When my hubby goes to work in the morning sometimes Mikki (who is a total daddy's girl) cries like she's in total agony! I have to call her and she usually will come get in bed with me and settle down.

Thats the odd thing, usually Emma shows no interest in me and wont let me touch her, she is far from a momma's girl. The only other time she has acted like this is when boyfriend moved and I was at a friends, She freaked out looking for me, I am usually the one who holds her and calms her in stressful situations ( car ride, the vet etc. )

But for a cat who usually doesn't act like she cares if i exist at all i find it odd.
