Thank you all for the good advice last thursday about my Charlie with the urinary tract problem. I took him on Friday for a consultation. The vet did not find significant crystals in his urine, so he did not think that surgery was necessary aat this time. I got him to eat the prescription food by shutting him in the bathroom with it and sitting in there with him the whole time. It's tedious, but I can just read a book while I'm in there. He seems to be feeling better, no more bloody urine, and he is much more playful. He even climbed up on our baker's rack in the kitchen and got his own kitty fishin pole off the top shelf. Infuriating, but still, better than laying around crying.
I feel much more relaxed, I was a nervous wreck during all that!!

I am glad you took him in and had a professional look him over. Here's to him feeling better each day!

I'm glad he's feeling better. He sounds much livelier and that's both a good thing and a not so good at times.
