I am sitting there minding my own business when not one, bur TWO cats pop their heads out of a box.
I did not see or hear them before hand! Shesh...

One of my cats crawled out from under the sofa the other day.  I felt her against my ankle and almost had a heart attack.  The cats have never gone under there, as far as I knew.  They sure keep you on your toes!

I used to have pet mice and they got out once, I felt them at my foot, looked down and said to "you had better be my mouse or else your dead."

low and behold it was my mouse. Needless to say it did initially give me a fright. And the next day I went out and bought a glass aquarium and used my sisters reptile cover she wasn't using as she has a turtle.

Sandi will occasionally just appear behind me when I'm sitting on the couch.

I paid Ana back. She was hiding under my blankets and I almost sat on her.. woooops!

Years ago I had an outside cat and had a cat cage set up as a shelter.  Moved it one day and it was heavy and was about to reach in and pet the cat when I stopped.  Looked in to see a possum.  YIKES!

Far as cats I have had a few frights.  One likes to hide on the top of cabinet and is little so you do not see her and she jumps down to the counter.  Have had cats crawl into the food bags or litter bags.  I use them as a double bag for the used litter.
