Hi, I need help in knowing what this bald spot can be on my cats back.
I notice that his furr color starting changing colors in just that spot a couple of months ago but there was no bald spot, I know this because I do brush him every 2 days. Today I noticed the bald spot and I am freakin out.
Abit about Mitu, the cat:
He is 2 years old. He is on Lysine as the doctor said because he has the herpes virus. He eats 1 can of wet food a day ( half morning, half night) plus some kibbles in between. He pees two times a day and poops once normaly. I didn't notice any changes in his behavior. He has days with great energy and some days where he is calmer:)
He also had abit of dandruff on his lower back and I gave him some fish oil for it but now he seems to not have it anymore.
Anyone can tell me what this change in color and bald spot can be?
I will go to the doctor if necessary but he is so scared of other people and of the outside that I want to spear him that stress as much as possible.
Please, can someone help?
I included some pictures so you guys can see.

I don't know what could be the cause, but could he be running under a dresser or something else that would consistently scratch at that area on his back? Does he act any different when you touch it, as though it is sensitive?

I hope it turns out to be nothing! If his behavior, eating, and elimination are unchanged I would not panic about it.

I'm having a hard time even seeing it? My Mikki has hot spots... some sort of allergy.... then she licks them til they are raw ... almost had to have surgery on one once as it was so deep, so when I see your kitty and don't see broken skin....I'm thinking it can't be anything too concerning... not yet anyway. Does she lick it?

No, he doesn't lick or scratch himself at all. You can see it in the first two pictures way better, is like a bald line. How about the color change in that spot? He is alergic to detergen but we switched to an alergic detergent and he is ok now. Other ways he is just fine.

I guess you have seen the before/after ..I'm so used to seeing Mikki's spots that I would be happy if her coat was as nice looking as your kitty's :) Guess you should keep your eye on it :)
