I will be adding some Friskies into my normal food rotation for my three non-urinary-issue kitties.  I will be doing only a couple flavors of the "Special Diet" in the hope of helping to maintain good urinary pH.  This will be in a rotation with a number of grain free canned foods (Friskies pate isn't truly grain free as it has brewers rice, but I'd rather have that than wheat or corn).

In the Special Diet Friskies has an ocean whitefish flavor.  I normally completely avoid any foods with fish; however, this particular one has better ingredients than some of the other flavors in terms of it having actual meat (albeit fish) as the first ingredient rather than byproducts.  The first three ingredients are ocean whitefish, meat byproducts, and chicken, which is clearly better (aside from it being fish) than ones that start with byproducts and water.

Is it possible that the Special Diet ocean whitefish flavor, given that it is formulated for urine pH and has low magnesium, is actually okay?  Again, my urinary blockage boy won't be getting this (he's on Rx food and I'm also going to try Dave's urinary health food), this is for my three girls of which two have only ever had minimal urinary problems (on Wellness, which I guess is a known issue) and the third no issues at all (she's only 10 months old).

It occurs to me I should've put in the subject "can any cat food safely have fish" because I don't normally feed any fish, and because I'm not really looking to feed this for urinary issues but rather in the hope that a lower magnesium food is just generally a better choice.
