I have been feeding Callie for the past 2 yrs and she is still very wild- won't let me touch her. However, she tend to be on my deck right in front of my sliding door watching me and my cats.

She LOVES to play with the feather toy through the slidin door. It's really funny to watch her try to bite the feather toy thru the glass! I've tried to open the door and play with her in person but she would take off so this is the only way I can play with her.
Enjoy her antics! (pardon the flash in some of the pics due to the glass reflecting the camera's flash.)
Isn't she gorgeous?

Pam-

I would try and go outside and sit down with your feather teaser. Stay very still and when she approaches don't look at her, look away and start dancing the teaser away from you and see what you do. Take a couple of pillows and get comfortable, and go out in the hours you know she will show up and have treats for her as well.

have you tried to open the door just a little crack, and stick the toy out that way? Maybe you can gradually open the door over time.

Thanks for all the compliments on Callie and Pepper. I will be sure to pass your compliments on to them.

I did open the door A BIT and tried to play with her but she would just sit there and stare at me until I close the door then she'd come up to the door.

I have tried a few times to sit outside for a while and play with her using the wand without looking at her but have not had much luck. Will keep trying though.

Funny thing is whenever I go outside to try to play with Callie, all 4 of my cats will be lined up at the sliding door pawing like crazy, meowing, pacing back and forth and staring at me. They HATE it when I go somewhere where they can't follow and be with me.

Another weird thing is that Callie likes to follow me. Whenever I come home from shopping, I have to make couple trips from my apt to my car to get all the shopping bags and Callie will be trotting behind me following me. If I stop, she'd stop, I start walking again, she'd start walking again. If I get to the car door, she'd be on the sidewalk looking at me like "HEY- I can't follow u into that! NO FAIR" then as I start heading back to the apt, she'd take off running and go behind a tree then as I pass the tree, she'd start trotting behind me and doing the same thing again. She also does that when I'm inside. If I am in the living room/dining room, she stays at the sliding door. If I head into the bedroom, she'd go to the last window in the hall and sit there waiting for me to come out of the bedroom. When I come out of the bedroom and head toward kitchen/living room, she'll move to the sliding door so she could keep an eye on me...

Isn't that STRANGE but flattering??

That is so cute! It's so weird.. Prego doesnt do that, yet I can sit on the patio and play with her, but not touch her.

Callie follows you everywhere yet you cant sit on the patio and play with her

I am making GREAT progress with Callie!! 2 years ago, she'd run off if she saw me coming to the door. Now, when I open the door, she'd step away a few steps but won't run off... She also now will eat out of my hand and play directly with me using the feather wand. I think I will be able to pet her SOON!!

I am posting some pics here so u can see what progress I've made with Callie.. Isn't she GORGEOUS???

In the first pic, u'll see Callie and Zebra having a staring contest. I think that's one of their FAVORITE things to do- STARE at each other!!
