 Hello,

My name is Samantha Weissich. I am a lover of animals and recently I rescued a kitten. Not the typical adoption rescue, but an actual rescue. Here is the story:

My dog and I went on a walk along Lake Solano. I then heard some meowing and my dog(Isaac) began to tug on the leash, I let him go and he rushed to some reeds/brush near the shore line. There was a plastic bag floating and caught on a branch. I saw movement in the bag, but sadly could not reach it. So I jumped in the frigid river water  to retrieve the bag. What I saw inside made my heart drop.

There was a small black kitten, shivering and two other water-logged kittens dead. Someone had tossed these babies into the river!  I tried in vane to revive the dead kittens, but they were too far gone. The black one was alive and Isaac gently took him by the scruff and headed to the car. I cleaned the poor thing up, and cut the matted fur and removed the fleas and discovered what looked like a cut on his ear.

When I took him to the vet, the Doctor said it looked like someone burned the side of his face!  Unbelievable!

The hell this poor thing went through is unimaginable. The cruelty to these animals is needing justice. I am disgusted and ashamed at the human(s)' behavior. This little guy or gal(too young to tell the gender) did not deserve this.  Nothing living deserves to be tossed aside like common trash.

I am hopping to raise this darling to show him or her that all humans are not bad. I am asking for donations, which will cover the vet costs, checkups, medicine refill(it has medicine for the burn), they spaying and shots. Anything helps, gift card to petstore, even hand me down cat items or unwanted food is greatly appreciated. You may donate here online: https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/crfl...ry-update&utm_medium=email&utm_source=09-2014

ANY  extra funds will go directly to the local SPCA. Thank you.

To all members, a reminder that it is YOUR responsibility to check out these solicitors to the best of your ability. Lucky for the poor little kitty that you were walking along when you were. Never ceases to amaze me how horrible some people can be. I wish you luck in raising funds and looking after this cat. S/he obviously needs all the care they can get.

River Cat is doing very well! First time she or he walked out on its own!(I have a set up in the linen closet). I am thankful for all the donations I have received. Currently working with rover relief to help with meds. Again ANY donations are greatly welcomed!

Currently I am writing to the Reporter(local newspaper) to get the word out about this animal cruelty.

Any suggestions are welcomed! I am amazed at this little one's strength! Burned, thrown if frigid water and being in a new home! What a fighter!

Girl, I think.

What a lucky kitten to have been found by you! I hope she can make a full recovery and have a good life from now on.

She's a girl.

Poor little darling, what a horrible start she's had. I'm glad Isaac found her, they look like they're going to be good buddies.

Thank you for helping her.

Has she been seen by a vet already? The image isn't very clear, but the rectal area doesn't look too good?

Thank you for rescuing her. You've come to the right place for rescue advice, so let us know if you have more questions or issues with her.

She is now named Nova! I expressed her anal glands then she squirted and pooed, butt now looks normal. She is doing better! Still sleeps all day. She has been to the vet, said she needs rest and love. I am curently trying to get in contact with Kron4 or a news paper to get this story out. I want people to hear about this sick *******(pardon my language) who did this. I also want people to rescue pets, via shelter or river!
