I have 2 little kitties that have been waking us up in the wee hours of the morning. Doesn't seem to matter how much we feed or play with them before bed.
My question : is it mean to lock them out of our room at night? I am used being able to snuggle up with my animals at night, but thinking they are going to need to be a bit older first? They would basically have the run of the house...I just need some sleep!

It's been a while since we had kitties, I forgot how crazy they can be

Have kittens in the house if just like having a small infant for awhile!  They love the night time and see it as their play time.  I have heard that a really good play session before bed that leaves them exhausted as well as feeding them a meal right before bed can help.  Do you have a da Bird toy to really get them moving?  Once cats have played (hunted) and then eat (their prey), they next want to nap.

I don't think locking them out of your room is bad as long as they are safe in your house and can't get into trouble or hurt themselves.
