I think this is a good quality food ...I feed it often and there are a handful of carrageenan free selections if that is a concern for you. I usually get the Chunky Turkey Loaf & the Chunky Chicken Loaf

these are the selections w/o carrageenan - I emailed the company for a list (I don't do the fish varieties)

Minced Cod

Chunky Chicken Loaf

Chunky Turkey Dinner

Senior Soft Loaf Chicken

Senior Minced Cod & Tuna

Minced Chicken

Minced Chicken & Shrimp

Sliced Turkey & Salmon

Sliced Salmon

Sliced Chicken & Tuna

Sliced Turkey

My cats like pate, what do you recommend? Are all theses chunks and shreds?

My kitty has a pate preference too - I get him the chunky chicken & the chunky turkey;  the actual names of those two are "Chunky Loaf Chicken Dinner" & "Chunky Loaf Turkey Dinner" - they are a pate with a few little chunks.  The minced is what you'd expect - little dices - he will eat that also but prefers the pate ...never tried the slices

Does your cat like these more than wellness core or merrick pate (they seem cheaper)

What wet foods do your cats like?
I have tried many brands . The only one they will eat everyday twice a day is  Fancy Feast Kitten Turkey Feast ( pate ) . They would never try pates in other flavors of FF or any other brands for that matter ..

He does seem to like these a bit better - although he does also really like Merrick pates ...I'm trying to get the carrageenan out of his diet as much as I can.  He likes the Wellness too although he seems to relish the Nutro but he isn't terribly fussy.

Thanks for letting me know I hate to buy a case online if she will not like it. I finally got her to stop vomiting rotating merrick chicken ( her favorite) pate, duck pate, or wellness Core chicken turkey liver pate. Grain free seems to be the answer and the cans are twice the size. Does your cat like the chicken loaf best? Funny how the boy will eat anything but the girl so so fussy or intolerant of grains, fish, beef etc.

It would be smart to buy a couple of cans just to be sure first, that is what I will do.

Definitely if you have a local source, try a few cans first - I don't have a local reliable source, our Big Lots had some a couple months ago - that's how I tried it.  He likes the chicken & turkey pretty equal I think.  Right now out local Big Lots has another shipment but they are all the fish containing varieties  (.50 cents a can) ...I don't like to feed a lot of fish but did get him some Salmon & Duck Chunky Loaf and he does like that too - he will only het that once or twice a week.  I do need to order some, was hoping B/L would get some fish free in but it doesn't look like they will any time soon.

I went and ordered 24 cans from chewy.com (big boy will eat if she does not like) 1.04 each little can! Merrick is a lot cheaper. High price for no carageen I guess. I will have to rotate it is so expensive. Thanks for all your help.

Hope they like it - it is a pricy food and I have never bought it aside from Big Lots so far (I scarfed as much as I could the first time I found it there). When I do finally order it I will also have to rotate as it really is above my means to spend that much on a regular basis. We just do the best we can for them. Good luck!

One of my cats will ONLY eat Nutro Natural Choice (either the Chunky Loaf Chicken or the Minced Chicken), and another cat will eat almost any of the Natro Natural Choices as long as they are not fish only (catfish, cod & tuna, etc.).  My other cat won't touch this brand
.

BTW, Petsmart often has it on sale for around $0.89 cents a can.  I keep waiting for them to have it on sale again, and their cashier said it might be soon
.    Until then, I just order two cases from Chewy.com and put then on auto shipping to get the discount, and it turned out to be just less than $1. per can.

My two love the Chicken, Turkey, or Salmon and Duck chunky loafs. One of the only foods they'll eat consistently.

Nutro Natural Choice is my cat's absolute favorite wet food and my go to wet food for her. She loves the chunky and soft loaf pâtés - with a slightly greater preference for the soft loafs. The ingredients are great and simple. She eats the chicken variety, the turkey variety, and the duck variety.

I thought the only soft loaf was called chunky. Is there a loaf I am missing without the chunky word in it?

lol ...I think you typed your question into the quote maybe (??) ... yes, there are 'soft loaf' recipes as opposed to the 'chunky loaf' but those have carrageenan ...if that's not a problem for you then it might be a good choice for you - but honestly, the chunky loaf is not that chunky ... if your cat won't eat for some reason, Chewy is good about refunding your money ...I had a food my cat wouldn't eat & they refunded my money & told me to donate the food to a shelter.  I can't say they will always do that but their return policy says they pay the return shipping ...so don't hesitate to communicate with them if you have a problem.

ps - my list above is only the carrageenan free varieties
