I'm sure this has been addressed somewhere but I'm really nervous
My cat is 3 years old and has been throwing up what seems like white foam throughout the night. He was fine all the next day till the evening, he threw up all his food and even started throwing up water if he drank it. I'm nervous because I don't have the money right now to take him to a vet.. Has anybody else experienced this before? Please help!!

Yes I have and my cat was very sick, but he was doing it all day not just the evening like yours. Your cat needs to see a vet as it is not normal for this to occur. If it was a hairball nothing would come out. Does your cat have any other symptoms?

White foam means he is throwing up on an empty stomach.  It's possible that he has too much stomach acid and this is the cause but we can't diagnose your cat.  Has he changed foods lately, or eating habits?  If it is acid stomach a vet would often recommend 1/4 of a 10mg tablet of Pepcid AC given once a day.  It's bitter so its best if it goes in a treat of some kind.  But the truth is he needs to see a vet, perhaps a friend can offer to help pay, or care credit is another possibility.

Took him to the vet yesterday morning and they took xrays, looks like there is something in his stomach he's trying to get up.  They are assuming it's a hairball.  They prescribed him with cat lax and another liquid medicine.  He started eating again! thanks all for your comments! Hopefully this does the trick

My cats cough out white foam on an empty stomach. Try feeding him twice a day instead of once (if you're on raw), and give about one egg every week or so to help with hairballs.

My cat ate several feet of dental floss that she got out of the bathroom trash.  She started throwing up white foam and finally out came the dental floss thank god.  I didn't even know she had eaten it.  Luckily it didn't kill her.  So anyway, glad to hear you kitty is better, my first thought was that she may have swallowed something and you didn't see it.  Please keep us posted and GL!
