I have 5 indoor only cats all rescues that I have had for 6 years now. 3 males and 2 females. The 2 girls have become quite anti-cat, especially this past year. I have tried everything from Calming Collars, Feliway and even RX Meds from the vet. :( I have to separate them in a spare bedroom (with toys/cat tower/food/water) when I am at work. And even when I am home when I let them out I am always on 'edge' worried about a cat fight. I have had 7 cat fights in the last year, one turned out to be serious and she had to be treated at the ER VET. :( I was wondering if you are taking any cat surrenders? They are both spayed. PLEASE advise or even if you have any suggestions as I am at my wits end!! I love the girls but I live alone, 51 yrs. old and need all my cats to be at peace as well as myself. One of the girls is now on Amitriptyline(Elavil)10mg. When we weaned her off she went right back to bullying. PLEASE any more ideas. I would give anything to make us all a family again. I would consider rehoming but cannot find a god home yet, people that respond are not serious about her welfare, so I continue my search for a new home or a miracle where the girls can stay with me, I want to grow old with them. :)

Always have toys on hand, distract them with toys, to calm them down. This also has many benefits to get them to get along.

This is going to sound crazy and I apologise, but have you thought of trying an animal communicator? I know a few people who have had success with this when all else has failed.

No, I have not tried a animal communicator.

Where do I find one that is 'real'?

Yes, they have tons of toys, cat towers, cat tunnels, etc.

The floor plan in the house is also not helpful as they bump into each other more often than before when I lived in a two level home.

I think it depends on where you live. You will have to do research, maybe ask your animal shelter or vet, they might know.

okay and thanks.

my vet is not helpful with things like that and the shelter here in tampa, florida not as much either.

but will research and hopefully see if i could find one that might be real and also have a reasonable fee

thx so much for the idea

Call some local cat rescues or pet supply stores, they're going to know who's around. Look online and find some names. In this day of obsessive sorting and rating, there are bound to be some comments available.
