My kittten Tigger is about 5 mo old and I've had him about two. He's very lovable but just as naughty. He bites and claws us horribly. He's extremely energetic! He runs around the house, bounces of the walls. Literally! He tears up the furniture, window blinds, my comforter, chews on our shoes etc. He's got dozens of toys and we play with him as well but he's just too wild. He's been neutered. I thought that calms them down? I've had several cats and none were nearly as wild as he is! I don't know what to do.

I was told that to stop kitten thinking this behaviour is ok to end the game of play. Clap. Say no and walk away. If he jumps out at you from under a bed/couch etc to distract him with a toy of some form. My husband (when we first got our cat) used his hands to play with him too much. He still does. On the odd occasion, however, Bruce (because of that early learning and the way hubby played with him) thinks it's acceptable to scratch or bite me when he is frustrated or angry. Husband taught him this but I cop the brunt of it. Go figure. As for the blinds, furniture etc you can try rubbing them with citrus peel or filling a spray bottle with water and citrus and spraying the surfaces with the solution. It didn't work for ours (he's weird) but we now have 3 cats and all of them hate a herbal spray called "Cat Lover" (Beaphar)  No Scratch Spray. Not sure of availability outside of Australia but it is fantastic. You just have to spray it on every day and it's not toxic or anything obviously just a displeasing herbal smell the cats don't like. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely look up the no scratch spray. I currently use a water bottle but will try adding citrus to it. I also clap loudly and yell no but it's a temporary solution as he runs right back to what he was doing. It's the same with the water bottle. He dries himself off and goes back to what he was doing. Thanks again! [emoji]128522[/emoji]
