So about a week ago last tuesday to be exact i went to go and adopt a cat, unfortunately the cat i wanted adopt had caught an eye infection from the other cats and so i was advised that they would have to first take the cat over to the vet to treat it and will advise me when its discharged so i can adopt it. However they did not tell me how long it would take so im hoping if any you guys can predict how long an eye infection normally takes to treat.

It depends on the eye infection.  Usually you have to put ointment in their eyes for 10 days up to 2 weeks depending on the infection.  Usually in a matter of days you should see improvement however.

It all depends on your cat. My cats have eye infections and it went away in about a week. I used over the counter medicine recommanded by my vet. I hope he or she gets better soon so you can take him or her home.

Infections can take a couple of weeks to clear.  I'm sure you are eager to get your kitty home!  Hopefully they are well soon
