It seems like things just keep popping up with this kitten :( I should have saw it coming seeing as how I took him in as a stray..

He's been living with my boyfriend at his parents house until I move into my apartment next week. He was treated for fleas two weeks ago and I go see him every day. Whenever I am there I check him over completely and have never seen any sign of worms.

This morning my boyfriend dropped Boone off to me at my parents house on his was to class as Boone has a vet appointment this afternoon.

We brought Boone in and introduced him to my four dogs and two cats here. All went well. He was scared but most of the other animals ignored him to be honest.

Well I set him up in my bedroom and before I left him in there for some quiet time I checked him over and there are WORMS all over the fur around his bum.

There weren't there when he got to my house and my animals don't have worms.. Why did they show up all of a sudden?!? I'm so confused ..

No I'm worried for my other animals. Vet appointment is in an hour I'm just upset :(

They most likely aren't actually worms but the eggs of the tapeworm, those are the white 'worms' that are seen on cats and dogs. I know it's gross but almost ALL cats have worms of some kind or another and can be controlled by deworming. I use Profender, a topical dewormer that you apply to the back of the neck (make sure you get it up high enough, they foam if they lick it.) The vet should easily ID them and give you treatments. It wouldn't hurt to medicate your other animals too, sooner or later they all seem to get worms. Good luck and keep us posted! PS. don't worry about YOU getting them, tapeworms have to complete their life cycle through the dirt and getting in to a rabbit.

I think they were worms as got a few into a Zip lock Baggie to show the vet and they moved around some in there.. I was pretty grossed out to be honest, lol!

He saw the vet and she said that the revolution DOES treat worms, and he's due for another round of it in about two weeks. But she also sent me home with a pill that should help as well! :)

My vet has a kitten care program and I signed up for it while I was there.. It's great! It's $515 plus tax and it includes all worming/flea medication, all of his vaccinations, microchipping, FIV and FeLV testing, his neuter, nail trimming, and it covers any examination fee up until he is 8 months old.
