Tooth fell out

My Persians top canine fell out..she is about 8 months..however there is no new tooth coming in.is it common for it to rake more than a few weeks..she still has a baby canine on the

other side..but has néw adult teeth on the bottom canines

It sounds like she is a little slower than average in the teething department, because most cats have all their adult teeth in at 7 months of age.  Often an adult canine comes in right next to a baby canine and before the baby tooth falls out, the cat has double teeth for awhile.  In her case, it sounds like the baby tooth has fallen out and the adult tooth is probably pushing up exactly where it should be and you should see it soon.  Here is an informative link about teething from VCA Animal Hospitals.  [if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:OfficeDocumentSettings> <o:AllowPNG/> </o:OfficeDocumentSettings></xml><![endif]

thanks for the reply, I just wanted to be sure she was on track, because she is very clumsy sometimes and wanted to make sure she didn't knock it out or something.

its quite funny when her upper lip gets stuck below her lower tooth, she looks like a pirate.

She's very lovely!  I know the pirate l;ook.  Some of my old ones have had that when they get old and lose one of the canines.

Just checked again and the left canine is still the baby tooth as well..she is 9 months

So here we are many months later and i have accepted it wasn't coming back in...now shes missing the other one!!! I am calling the vet tomorrow but do you have any suggestions? How will she survive without them

Definitely call the vet, because it is strange that they are falling out, but don't despair if they don't grow in.. my cat lived from the time she was 4 until she was 15 with no teeth at all.  They do just fine, because they don't chew their food for the most part - and she doesn't need to catch prey to survive!  My cat ate dry and wet food, and treats, with no issues at all.
