The trauma is over.... well, at least until the blow drying starts in a few minutes!

Oh my! Look at how pissed he is!
I had to crop this because he's under my bed and I didn't realize how many dust bunnies were under there!

mmm hmmm... typical man... thinks I didn't do a good enough job and has to bathe himself now!

That's it until I get him all blow dried and fluffed up! Check back later when we're finished!

I think you're gonna have to give him some special treat to make up for that bath you gave him. He looks like he's flaming mad at you!

Does he put up a fight in the bath and also when you try to dry him?

He tolerated it much better then I thought he would. I just held him tight and kept talking to him. He got used to it after awhile. And I'd prop the blow dryer up so I could comb and brush while his fur was drying. Mary from Petmar told me you have to keep combing while the fur is drying. Especially the legs, belly and chest where the fur tends to get curly.

Ok... I have to go finish the rest of the pics!

...he honestly looks a little like a minature lion cause of his neck looking more fluffy than the rest of him...or is it just the way the camera caught him? But either way.....he sure does look like a KING

I just busted up laughing when I saw the bath pics, he looked soooo pissed, but I waited till I could catch the 'after' pics of a fluffy Jake. Awww, he is so handsome! I want to go hug his fluffy fur.

Thank you! He is so soft and cuddly now. And smells SOOOOO good! He had a lion cut before he came to me so it is still growing out. So you are right! I can't wait to see him when his fur grows out!

What I had to do was first rub his whole body down with Goop Hand cleaner. I guess Red's are naturally greasy and this helps "degrease" them.
Then rinse, then scrub down with Joy dishwashing liquid, rinse, scrub down with his regular shampoo, then rinse with water & vinegar. It's a lot of steps but doesn't take as long as I thought it would. And the results are stunning! (I think).

I can't wait to do my other cats!

I wish I was able to bath Daisey and Blossom....but truth be told...I'm just not brave enough to attempt it lol...as much as they both love to sit in the sink with the water running and also at the edge of the bath while I am in it....they go not further than that! I would just be tore to pieces if I tried to bath either of them!

Ok Peaches was the next. I wanted to do Hallie but I couldn't catch her.
She still doesn't trust me because I am the meanie who has to put salve in her eyes! Anyway, Peaches is a bit pissed off right now so I'll have to wait to take pictures. She HATES the blowdryer and although this is not the first time I've bathed her, it is the first time I got to blow dry her. And I have a few scratches on my hands from it too! Her previous owners had her front declawed but she sure still makes use of those back ones! I was able to blow dry her about 90%.

I'm whipped! And my arms and wrists hurt!
I think I'll wait a day or two to do Hallie and Henrietta. (I WON'T bathe Carmella! She get's professionally done).

PS: Jake loves me again already. He forgets fast!

I meant to reply to your post!

Daisey and Blossom are beautiful! I don't think it's as necessary to bathe short and some medium haired cats. They can usually groom themselves pretty well. I tackle my kitties for a couple of reasons. First, I have allergies and it makes all the difference if I keep them clean. And their fur is SOOO long it is hard for them to keep it as clean. And plus, I love it when long haired cats look like poof balls!

Thank you Teresa. Your support means everything in the world to me when it comes to especially Jake and Hallie. Afterall, they were your babies before mine!

I can't imagine having a BIG basket full of kittens AND a bunch of adults! It must get over whelming.
