Your vet is right.  http://www.petforums.co.uk/cat-health-and-nutrition/55693-warning-bob-martin-spot-dewormer.html

What you want to use is pamoate pyrantel, and it comes in several concentrations.  I don't know the UK version, but in the USA it's most commonly marketed as Strongid and Nemex.

I'm sure your vet could tell you the UK version and probably has some on hand.  All our vets here use it.  It is a liquid, not a spot on.  My cats seem to enjoy the taste of the Nemex2 formula too, whereas they say YUK at the generic versions, so I spend a little more to get the Nemex.

If there is none handy locally, amazon always has it and I think they are pretty international.

Not to worry, you BF may be right.....My Meow has slanted eyes that actually look like " Down Syndrome " eyes and she is perfectly normal and has no eyesight problems at all.  Meg on the other hand has huge eyes that are perfectly round with no slant to them .....Just like we humans, cats have different faces and looks. If there is no discharge from the eyes I would not worry.    I have hand raised several newborn kittens over the years and have a fifty percent success rate. I would be more concerned about the sneezing than anything.

Hi everyone, I'm on week two now and the mum is still never picked up her kittens, if one of the kittens falls down the side of the cardboard box (they like to climb out sometimes) the mum will not help it I have to personally pick it up by the neck like the mum does and place it back in the box. Why is this? Should I not pick them up at all? (The mum trusts me a lot she's my best friend)

Kittens are still sneezing, should I be concerned? Even when I change there bedding every morning they sneeze it's cute but worrying ... Should I visit the vet??? Is it normal for young kittens to sneeze everyday (about a good 5--7 times)

He is trying to nurse, he may be hungry. Be sure the mother is giving them plenty of milk if for some reason the mother is not giving them enough milk you can buy goat milk at any pet store and feed them with a syringe. Be sure the milk is warm and DO NOT FEED THEM WITH COW MILK.

Also don't attempt to open their eyes by force, that's totally natural and they'll eventually open them by themselves.

Good lucky with the babies!!

My vet told me a couple days ago front line is safe for a pregnant or nursing mother. I use diatomacious earth.

I wonder if maybe they are not sneezing, but hissing and spitting (a baby kitten version of it)? See this thread: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/101585/newborn-kittens-and-panting

Otherwise, I would worry that they have URI's, but they would probably show other symptoms besides just sneezing.

definitely don't try to open their eyes. They may open their eyes a week apart. I had a litter before and one had his eyes open at 11 days and it took the others almost 18 days to have their eyes fully open. It is normal for them to open their eyes at different times.

Be very careful bathing the kittens. Make sure the water is warm and immediately dry them when you are done. They are too young to squirm away so you can use a blow dryer on low and make sure you hold it far away and keep your hand between their skin and the dryer and move it around quickly because they can be burned by it. I always keep a jar of vasaline handy and some tweezers for fleas as well. If you see one, dab vasaline on it and it won't be able to move and you can just pick it off with the tweezers.

The sneezing could be caused by a number of things. If it continues I would absolutely take them to the vet. Young kittens are high risk for pneumonia if they inhale any liquid, even if that is milk or water from being bathed.

Since the mother is still with them they are probably fine. It is usually bottle fed babies who get pneumonia.

good luck!
