My girl urinates about three times a day like clock work. About twice a week I will find 2 or 3 urine clumps during a single visit. One as big as a tennis ball and one as small as a large marble. Her litter box is cleaned immediately after use. I'm paranoid due to Mosi being on dry food exclusively the past two months and afraid of urinary infections that could possibly develope. I am trying to get her on wet food again, but she isn't cooperating. She doesn't strain, vocalize or make frequent attempts at the litterbox. I just have never experienced this before. She drinks and eats normally. Food brands are in my signature. Should I be concerned?

If this is something new I would suggest a Vet visit just to rule out illness ..  Hopefully it is nothing ..

My cats also refuse to eat wet food ..  I have tried at least 30 different brands . They refuse everything ..

To get them to drink more water I have put out 4 water dishes of different shapes and sizes and they like it .

They drink a lot from all of them ..

Maybe you could try that since she does not like wet food ..

My cats are eating a mix of  Wysong Epigen & Evo .. ( a total of appx  12 % carbs ) .

 I am soon switching them to Young Again 50/22 . ( a total of 4.6 % carbs ) .

I too worry about Urinary Tract issues with my cats being on an all dry diet . The grain free and very low carbs should be a step in helping prevent issues hopefully ..

It is probably a good idea for your cat to be seen by a vet just in case especially since the peeing issue is new ..

Honestly it doesn't sound like a big issue, how old is she?  Any other changes? Drinking excessive amounts of water?  Excessive urination can be a sign of kidney issues or in some cases diabetes, but simple tests can rule that all out.

Mosi is 20 months old. I've got 8 water dishes set around the house and she does drink. I also put water in her dry food 3 times a day and the food/water is consumed within 5 minutes.

2Cats--Mosi stopped eating her Wellness wet after they did something to the recipe/cooking. I too have tried lots of different canned food. It is frustrating! I'm going to keep trying though. I feel terrible every time i come to this site now and see the wet vs dry discussions. People make you feel bad if your cat isn't on canned. It is depressing and I feel like a failure.

Were her urine habits the same, or have they changed? One possibility for the marble-sized clump is that she urinates a normal amount, then the stream stops, but before she ends her trip she squeezes a tiny bit out.

Don't feel bad if you kitty is refusing to cooperate. At least you're trying to do the best for your furbaby. I have friends who ignore my advice to switch and just say "I don't have the time right now."

I noticed Dave's cat food seems similar to Wellness, have you tried that?

There's links in my signature to places that will let you order single cans of cat food so you can try different brands without breaking the bank on a case only to find out kitty doesn't want it.

@Mosimom  , yes it is very frustrating when they refuse to eat wet food.  Do not feel bad and no need to feel like you failed .. You are doing the very best you can . You cannot make a cat eat something they do no want to eat . They are very stubborn critters .. That is good that Mosi likes water in her dry food . I tried that with mine and the brats won't eat it ..

Just a suggestion , if she is not picky about change you could try a no carb  kibble like  Wysong Epigen 90 or  Young Again Zero Carb or Young Again 50/22.( 4.6 % carbs ).

I would much rather have my cats eat low/ no carb wet food but since they refuse I went with the no carb kibble .. They drink from all four water dishes and love the kibble ..

Rain- I will check Dave's out (I don't think I've tried that one). I have a calendar where I write down the time, amount, and consistency of Mosi's output. Nothing has changed except 1 or 2 extra urine clumps during a single visit. This only happens a couple times a week. I have a call to my vet and hopefully he will get back to me before they close today.

2cats-- are samples available to try the kibble? I had her on Orijen, but she wasn't digesting it and threw up a couple hrs after eating. Switched her to Acana and have not had any problems.

Could I please have the link to get individual cans to try?
