Hi everyone,

I had a cat for 17 years and im looking to get another.

I was under the impression he was a birmab but found ragdolls online so came to the conclusion thats what he was.

After looking online i have became very confused as people say they are similar!

Please can someone help me in identifying what he is. Sorry that the picture is not clear.

Nat

Welcome to the site :wavey:

What a beautiful boy :rbheart:

He looks more like a Birman than a Ragdoll due to his white markings on back legs and none on face ( that I can see )

Hers a link that explains the differences between the two breeds

Are you in the uk ?

If so, please only buy from a registered breeder where you get a kitten that is registered with a cat fancy.
Buying a kitten without paperwork and not been registered is very risky. If you end up with a sick kitten there's basically nothing you can do. If however you buy a registered kitten that ends up sick, the cat fancy they are registered with can discipline, fine and suspend them.

Registered breeders do a lot of testing on their cats for all known problems effecting the breed. Hip testing and heart testing. This is something unregistered breeders don't do. So you more than likely end up with sick kitten that costs ££££ at the vets.

The link below is to the Birman cat club where there is a list of registered Birman breeders with kittens available

Do you happen to have a picture of his face (Specially the eyes)? It basically could also be a Neva Masquerade (Siberian Cat point) as far as I can see. Facial features should help with seeing what he is.
