Specifically a #3 CatCap - chicken flavored?

Capsuline #3 chicken flavored CatCap.

I am having a terrible time with my cat who has allergies.  Cannot get her pilled.  Due to bitterness of introducing pilling, she now foams at motuh as soon as I open her mouth and before pill even touches her mouth.  I have only tried to pill her twice.

It is quite traumatic for her.  She drools for quite some time and hides.

She is quite miserable with her allergies, I need to figure something out soon.  :-(

Will she eat out of your hand? If she will, take the smaller part of the gel cap, put the pill in it and wrap it with canned food...a sticky kind. Wrap into the smallest, tightest ball you can and try to hand feed her....No force, no trying to put it in her mouth. You might start with just a bite or two of canned food until she "trusts" that you are just being nice and giving her a special treat. It has worked wonders with my boy who has to take a quarter of a Plavix pill every day...very bitter. I tried pilling him and had the same drooling, fighting struggle. Even his Vet had problems pilling him.... he has been labeled as "difficult" to pill. This method has worked and it's so much less stressful for both of us! He takes the Plavix for heart and I was afraid the pilling process was doing more harm than help. I found the most important part is to get the ball small enough that he will take it as one bite...hince not using the complete gel cap. Good luck.

I have not tried hand feeding her.  She mouths everything, not immediately eating food.  Some kibble I use as treats, she will put in her mouth, taste it, then spit it out.

I will give it a try.  She does not like pate type food, she likes the shredded in gravy Wellness Selects.  Not sure I can get her to eat anything sticky.

What kind of food do you wrap around the pills?  Are you wrapping it around the bare tablet, or did you put the tablet into a gelcap?  Benadryl are not in gelcap form that  I am using.  Bright pink caplets/tablets.

I use #4 size empty gel cap, open it, put the 1/4 pill in the smaller side, then put the cat food around that..(I don't use the larger part of the gel cap). My boys do prefer the pate which does make it easier...the chunk and shreds don't work well with this. I started out using Natures Variety Instinct Rabbit because he loves that, but once he decided this was "treat time" I've used Sheba and Fancy Feast Classic and Wellness Core....the Nitro Natural Choice is a little too wet and doesn't hold together. You might "try" splitting it into quarters and try putting it in some of the gravey, but usually they will notice right away that a pill is in their food and walk away especially if it is bitter or has any smell.

I have regular Wellness pate that I could try.  She does not really like it, though.  She does like FF grilled chicken in gravy.  Again same problem.  : -(

I have NV Instinct raw that is frozen.  She will eat the bits that are partially frozen.  I might try to put 1/3 of a Benadryl into the middle of a frozen chicken bit after she has eaten a couple without a pill.

She bit into the piece of pill hidden in the NV raw and immediately started drooling.  She chews all of her food into tiny bits.  Hiding a pill isn't going to work.
