Just wanted to share update on Stu the feral. He came back last night. Waited for for food, staring at my door, same as he always has. When I open the door, he walks away a little but as I put it down he comes forward. He has always done this. Very happy to see him again.

So happy he came back for food.  His ear tip is adorable!!  I bet you are thrilled to see him again.

I did think he was mad at me and have been leaving his food out before he comes. He was eating it that way, until last night he came early.

Can I ask what area you live near? I am in the Edison park area and I started feeding a gorgeous black kitty a couple months back, then noticed another cat coming around that looks very similar to stu. That would be a crazy coincidence! [emoji]9786[/emoji]

Hi D daisyrose79 we are in bridgeport chicago area. Nowhere near Edison park I think. Guess black and tabby cats are good street survivors. The Adoption place near me was full of black cats and standard brownish tabbys like Stu. None were as cute as Stu though. As you cAn probably tell he put a spell on me. He only eats canned pate's mixed with water. Wish you and your tabby and black cats the best!

I read somewhere that if all deliberate breeding was stopped, eventually all cats would be grey/brown tabbies.  Not sure how many generations it would take but it made sense.

ondine ondine D daisyrose79 check out this black feral who lives down the street from me, always in this huge tree, it's so beautiful. Cool cat, not the same one that comes to me for food along with Stu though. Think someone in that house with the tree in back is taking care of ferals. Maybe. Seen a really old man out there with the cats once.

ondine ondine yes she knows about them. If I ever see anyone, will ask. It's hard, at work a lot. Throop st ferals is just one person for the most part and right now she is trying to help mamas and kittens mostly. She knows about it though, we live really close to each other. It's really me that has to talk with them. There's a lot of feral/strays in the area.

Just wanted to share, Stu had a really happy ending! I found Stu's new home and caretaker today. He lives right next door to the garage where all these other feral cats are living. His home is great he has heated beds. Two shelters he shares with a 13 year old feral cat that has been living there here whole life. He is best friends with the caretakers dog, Lily. It's like a dream come true. Stu got fatter. Don't think he will ever leave there. She said he showed up in autumn, chased all the other cats away, except The 13 year old, and never left. He loves that dog. Yay Stu. She is so lucky to have Stu.
Luckily I happened to be leaving food during the day for the ferals. That is when a lady who lives next door came out to shovel her driveway. That is when I asked her if she has seen Stu and she let me come in her backyard and there he was. Have not seen him in months

Thank you @Ondine  and @ShadowsRescue here are links to a few videos of Stu I took yesterday. He might think he is a dog now. The lady who lives there says Stu never meows but sometimes makes bark like sounds at her dog. She said Stu is always rubbing up against Lily, the dog. Here are links

and here are Stu and Lily together looking like posing for a picture
