The Silver Streak

We have the new kitten. Brought him home last night from our vet and OMG none of us had any idea what it was going to be like !

Lucky is being very sweet, but dazed and confused and has a look on his face that says "What is this crazy thing, and how did it get in my house". In fact my husband Joe has a very similar look on his face too...

The kitten is a grey tabby and races around the entire house like the speed of sound. Last night Joe, Lucky and I were sat cowering on the sofa while the kitten launched himself over, under and past us like lightening.

Here he is looking much calmer than he actually is:

That is funny! I personally love the sound of kittens in "ON" mode. I've got 7 under 7 months old in my house right now and just love the noises they make. Does he turn himself "OFF" when he is done racing around?

It sounds like you don't have any issues with introductions. That's really great.

He is a gorgeous kitten!!

Your new kitten is absolutely adorable, and it sounds like he is easily adjusting to his new home!

That is soooo funny, and it really reminds me of when we first introduced Snowball to our home as a young kitten. Our resident cat (at that time) had that very same look on her face, and spent the first four days cowering(sp?) in a corner while Snowball immediately made himself at home and had the run of the entire house.

I can't image 7 kittens
! This one is a handful but very cute.

We're introducing him to Lucky a few hours at a time and it seems to be going reasonably well. They had both been introduced to each other at the Vets earlier in the week and seemed to get on OK then.

I also have a feliway plug-in and I keep rubbing them both with the same towl, but the kitten also has his own room so I pop him back in there just to give Lucky time to adjust.

The first time I let the kitten out, Lucky just tried to stay out of the way. It was a wild few hours and Lucky did hiss a bit, but that was primarily because the kitten would come flying out of no-where and land on him
. More recently Lucky has gone up and sniffed the kitten and touched noses - very sweet. But if the kitten comes up to him too fast or too close he still hisses, but he's not attacking at all.

I'm trying to get more pics of the kitten but he moves so fast I just keep getting a blur ! Hopefully the kitten will slow down some time today and I'll get something to post.

We don't have a name for the wild-one yet. We thought we'd get to know him a little so that we can name him something that suits. Although silver streak may be it. I've recently caught him sitting still so I'm about to post more pics of the Fur Pictures Only forum...name suggestions are very welcome !

He sounds like my Bangel, Simba. Simba is one playful guy, even though he's 6 months old, and he runs around this place like greased lightning.

Awww, he is so cute! LOL when I pictured the shell-shocked family watching this little blur racing by. Reminds me of our household even now, the other kitties just watching Pixie just wanting to play, play, play!
