Hi
My 8 year old male cat winky recently got blocked. We brought him to the vet and he suggested surgery (the kind where they remove the stones, not the kind where they straighten out the urethra). After the surgery the doctor told me that he did not get a couple stones but gave us some meds and told us that we would need to put him on some special food. We took winky home. At home he appeared to be straining and got sick. We took him back. the doctor assured us that he was not blocked b/c his bladder was not full but he had an infection that was making him think he had to pee. The doctor keep him and put him on fluids, he told us his kidneys were real bad. The fluids did not bring them back to normal and he let us take him home but told us that if he got sick again that there really wasn't anything more to do for him. The next day me and my wife decided to take him to another vet. This vet xrayed him and found a big string of stones in his urethra. They tried to flush them and did not get all of them. They were able to get a catheter passed them and his levels are getting better. We still don't know if he will get better. Anyway, it seems like the first vet just did a bad job. He is a very sweet man and loves animals but i think he is responsible for my cat's suffering. What should i do?
