Ok There was this stray cat that just showed up in the neighborhood in May beautiful and sweet, the hubby wouldn't let me have her at first, but I was secretly feeding her along with 3 other neighbors well she got pregnant and while I was on vacation she delivered the nieghbors said she wouldn't have anything to do with it (she is a young cat guessing at the time she was only about 6 months) but one neighbor said that the ladies didn't give her a chance with the kitten they took it and she kept going back there like she was looking for it well after I come home 2 days after she delivered a found a dead kitten on my side porch, and it was cleaned off! So she needless to say got pregnant again not sure when but hubby has let me bring her in and she is not so cuddly anymore (which she was like that the first time) and she is pacing back and fourth! Now she delivered the first set of kittens on July 5th and now it is Sept. 1st, she lost some fluid this morning that was clear and it was just a little bit but not sure if she is getting ready to deliver or not she has been showing for about 3 weeks now, Help not sure what to expect, I have her 3 boxes ready one with a blanket that she doesn't like, another with a towel and one with newspaper but she isn't going in any of them!

They often take the nest  very late, or even first after the delivery.  In nature they dont want to soil their chosen nest too early.

The rule of thumb is, when you feel them kittens move 2 weeks, its time.   But the exact hour is very difficult to pinpoint...

The fluids can be almost anything.

What exactly do you mean, she is showing about 3 weeks now?

I pastein some links!

Please continue to report and ask!

Good luck!

Thanks, I never noticed she was pregnant til about 3 weeks ago, I really thought she was gonna go in labor last night but then I did the math and even if she got pregnant right after the other litter it has only been 57 days since her last litter, I was worried she was gonna have preemies, I am just hoping I am here for her when she has them since I don't know for sure that she abandoned her first litter, even the neighbors said she did cause the one I found on my porch that didn't make it was nice and clean and I am thinking maybe it was born dead and the other neighbor guy said them women took that kitten as soon as she dropped it. I am just concerned what if she really did abandon them will she this litter too will I be able to convince her to feed them? is that possible, ok I may be worry alot about nothing but I am scared for her cause she is young and she is such a beautiful cat with so much love! We just love her to death even the husband who claims he didn't want her, as my son says he is her new best friend! She seems to be ok this morning, last night all she did was pace back and fourth!

She probably had some preconctractions.  That  quite common.  Perhaps even sort of a way of nature to gymnasticize forward the muscles for the real work to come...

Lets hope she wont get them premature.  As you surely know, kittens manage badly being premature born, human babies manage it better.

It is often so the mothernal instincts kick in after a while, even if the mom isnt completely ready at the time of delivery.

If you are worrying, its wise you prepare, by getting home dropper,  kmr/ goat milk (fresh goat milk best if you knew where you can get it), some glucose sugar, a scale to weigh them on...   etc.

Good luck!
