mama cat getting fat on kitten food - help

Hi!
Anyone have any brilliant ideas about getting my momma cat to eat her adult food and keeping her from eating the kitten food? Of course the kittens want to eat whatever she is eating, so she just goes over and eats the kittens food. She's starting to get a little tubby and I don't want her to get unhealthily ovetweight. Thanks for any help!

The only way to keep mom out of the kittens food is to seperate them. If moms are done nursing they no longer need the kitten food and you are right, it will make them overweight. If it is a free feeding issue you can try mixing adult and kitten dry food and then in the evening put the kittens in a seperate room and give them the kitten wet food.
