Hello!

I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm desperately trying to find somewhere or some website that I can buy fancy feast classic. I live in Ontario,Canada and for some reason no pet food websites ship here. And when I go to stores such as wal mart or local pet stores they only carry fancy feast grilled, sliced etc. I heard the classic fancy feast was better than the grilled, pâté etc. but is there really a big difference. I'm on a tight budget right now and this is all I can afford. If I switched to Friskies (seems easier to find here) would there be a big difference? I could really appreciate the advice!!

Thank you so much everyone!! :lol3:

oh Canada~
I feed Friskies over Fancy Feast because it ends up being more affordable, especially since Friskies comes in 5.5oz or 13oz whereas Fancy Feast comes in 3oz and costs the same or more. Plus, it's easier to find Friskies in bulk or on a better sale. Pet Valu stocks Classics (but they don't always have the "Classics" label - they just don't specify being marinated, grilled, chunks, or slices) and I see the individual cans at our Food Basics and sometimes Shoppers Drug Mart too. Ren's Pet Depot - the closest thing we have to an online bulk pet food store - has Fancy Feast in bulk too, but when you do the math, the price works out close to the same as buying can-for-can.

I remember someone had posted in the past that the synthetic vitamin K in some of the Fancy Feast varieties was problematic for their cat, but I think the aim for certain Fancy Feast classics is that they're low grain or grain free, which is good for the price. Friskies often has rice or rice flour or something.

Hi Suki99,

Have you tried getting on the Fancy Feast web site to see if they have a source in Ontario? Query them on-line  Purina website is purina.com or Google with Fancy Feast as your search term.

Not sure if this will work for you but the phone number on the label (in miniscule type that I have to remove my eyeglasses to be able to read) is 1-800-933-0991  hours are Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. central time. Remember that tomorrow, September 1 is a holiday here in the USA. Purina is located in St. Louis, Missouri

Any place that sells Fancy Feast will have the classics line. BUT it might not say "Classics" on the can :/. If you go on their website and identify the classics flavors you should be able to find them at the store.

Willowy has it right. Found this on the Feline Diabetes forum:

I have been puzzled by the whole Fancy Feast thing, as it states on the list that the FF should be labeled "Classic". In Canada it is not labeled classic and I was concerned and emailed Purina about this, the following was their response and it clears things up a bit.

Thank you for contacting Nestlé Purina PetCare. We appreciate the opportunity of responding to your enquiry.

Fancy Feast "classic" varieties are just called "feast" in Canada (ie: Fancy Feast Chicken Feast)and are a pate presentation. If the labels say anything else like "grilled", "marinated", etc then they are not a pate and have a gravy.

Yep. The pates are what you should be looking for. However, stay away from Fancy Feast "cod, shrimp, sole"  - it is the 2nd highest in phosphorous amongst all wet cat foods.

Hi! I just ordered the Fancy Feast Classic from Amazon (and I went the subscription route for a little savings and consistent delivery). Here's the link, but you'll have to check to see if they ship to Canada -- I would assume they do.
