Hey all,
Hoping my baby Diego and I can get some answers here. He's 2 years old, indoor and neutered.
About 3 weeks ago I took him to the vet after he had been urinating around the house, been very on edge and even hissing. (SO unlike him) They ended up having to sedate him so they could get a urine sample and they tested him for UTI, crystals and stones. They came back with antibiotics and that it was a mild UTI.
He's now gone through the medicine and was doing better - but the past two days he's started urinating around the house again. This morning, I noticed one spot was slightly red which I'm assuming is blood..
I purchased some of the stuff you put in his litter to test the ph levels I believe and it's in the normal colour range.. I've been freaking out all day and can't get him into a vet until Tuesday without it being an ER call since it's a long weekend here.
He's always been so healthy, eats high end food (Nutrience) with a mix of wet food, has a water fountain, and is the most relaxed cat you'd ever meet. I'm stumped on how he would get a UTI and why he can't beat this thing.
Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated. He's snuggled up next to me now and all I can think of is how much pain my baby is in.
Thanks y'all.
