This might end up being a stupid question, but I was wondering if anyone elses kittens like to drop their toy mice in their water bowl. My two love to do that and then they sometimes will end up caring it over to their litter box and dropping the wet mouse in there. I have thrown out one and am washing the other one now

Mine will sometimes get one in their water bowl during play by accident (or possibly on purpose). They like to bat them around their water bowls on tile. Cats also seem to like seeing things floating in water that they can poke at. When I had to wash my kitten I put a plastic toy ball in the water. She was fascinated by it enough that she stopped trying to get away and instead just followed the toy.

Thanks. I don't think their actually dropping it in there water dish, but batting it around and it ending up in there. However I do know that once in the water they do like to pick it up, drop it in their litter box and then cover it up with litter.

lol thats because are litter pros. Kittens seem to know that litter does absorb. I learned that the hard way. I had to wash Lily off twice because she immediately jumped in her litter box to try and remove the dampness. That was a disaster. Picture lots of wet litter flying around (because she tried to kick it off her feet) and sticking to everything. It helps once you are able to move the water and litter boxes in completely separate rooms. They usually don't have a long enough attention span to remember to bring the toy to a completely different room.
