3-day weekend!
What are your plans?

We're doing a small picnic. Rick's parents, my brother and SIL and my sister and BIL and some friends are coming over on Monday. Nothing exotic on the menu:

I'll put together a tray of crackers and fresh veggies for dipping with Pan-Fried Onion Dip, some guac, and some kind of salsa.

Hamburgers and hotdogs

Louisville Wings

Crock Pot Beans

Potato Salad

Broccoli Salad

My sister is bringing a big pan of her mac and cheese

Rick asked me about making a pineapple upside-down cake, so that will likely be our dessert

And cookies; we always have cookies

I'll make some mint iced tea and probably some orange-lemonade

And margaritas!

Dinner is at 4:00. C'mon over!

We have two new sets of neighbors and have gone over to meet them. They seem like nice people, although they're kids. (I know, at my age, everybody is a kid, but the one couple is in their early 20s and the other couple is in their late 20s. Much younger than us.) Anyway, the one couple is having a bit of a picnic on Sunday and we're invited. I am to bring potato salad to that. And some cookies. (We took some cookies over to the couple when we went over to introduce ourselves and they loved the cookies.) It's just hamburgers on the grill, which is fine with us. We'll get to meet their parents and other relatives....I'll be nervous, but it should be a nice time.

I think we're going to close the pool this weekend. With Rick being gone so much in September, it's better to close it now and not have to deal with it. Otherwise, we may end up closing the thing sometime in October and man, that water can be cold in October.

I'll probably work on cleaning up the garden a bit. We can pull the corn stalks for drying and then later on, we can shred them for compost. Everything else is still growing and producing....at least for right now.

It will be a busy weekend.

What about you?

I love 3-day weekends!!

I actually took off from my PT job. Saturday I want to touch up around my new place.. some areas need another coat of paint here and there. I may also explore Main Street's Mom and Pop shops on Saturday (stores are closed on Sundays on Main Street)

Sunday, I want to check out the town's farmer's market. I need to figure out exactly where it's located. I want to go shopping for an area rug for the living room and/or a kitchen table we well.

Monday, my sister invited me over for some dinner, so I'll head there for the day. It's always nice to see my family!

I only have Saturday and Monday off, but this weekend I'm hosting (I didn't agree to this, I was voluntold) for my boyfriend's friend, his girlfriend, and one of her friends that neither of us have ever met. They're showing up Friday evening and should get here around the time I get home from work, they'll be going to Fan Expo Saturday, sleeping here till Sunday and potentially staying until Monday. I still haven't worked on baby dragon or my portfolio, but none of that will be getting done this week.

Boyfriend's other friends might also join and stay at our place so they can all hang out as well. Since I've been working six days a week all month, I was really looking forward to some downtime but it looks like that isn't happening. The next few days I'll be spending cleaning the apartment and getting it ready for company.

If all goes as planned and my friends are still free, we might be making Saturday a tourist day to explore downtown Toronto and visit a small free zoo to pet llamas.

If I can get the guests out of my place by Monday morning, Monday is a cleaning day - at least for the bird cages. And then hitting the hay so I can rise and shine early for school on Tuesday. I haven't visited my parents or friends back home since April. No rest for the weary.

Saturday is my daughters second birthday party and Sunday we have a 30th birthday party for my husbands cousin. Monday, we are going to my moms and going to the fair that is right near her house. I am very glad she lives so close to it so I can walk back to her house to sit down and relax. I can only be on my feet for about an hour at a time before I am exhausted. There's a demolition derby in the evening that I am hoping to go to as long as Aimee is co-operating.

I am having girl's weekend alone

Tom is going to visit his parents.  They live several hours away and his dad was recently put into a nursing home.  He doesn't get up there as much as he'd like, and he starts another semester of college next week which will keep him from visiting for a while.

I already made an appointment for an overdue cut and color.  Going to do some other girly stuff for myself, maybe some clothing shopping.  Looking forward to some R&R time alone.

Pam, I don't know yet what we're going to do.  If I feel up to it, we will go to his home down the Jersey Shore.  It will be a mob scene tho with this being Labor Day Weekend.  I guess no matter where you go this weekend, it will be mobbed.  It may be nice tho just to get away for a few days, just don't know yet.

Need to hit bigger Petsmart for cat food sale on Saturday-will have to wrestle husband out of bed I know:p.  And BJ's after. There is a baby store down that way I am curious about clearance they have so will do that too.  Have everything but figure worth seeing what they have for later/if it is worth going back.

Mom and Dad may come over depending on how she feels.

We were making last minute plans to take the kids to a railroad place a few hours from here.  We are holding off on that though.  I'm no good with last minute trips like that. lol

As of now; DH has offered to help my Step-dad with some things under his house.  I'm guessing we will grill at some point.  Other than that; I want to relax and sleep in a bit.  It's supposed to be hot here; so maybe we will sit in the kid's pool too.

I'll most likely be working on Saturday, that's retail for you. However Bruce's is off on vacation, so we can at least do a little bit of travel, visiting relatives etc. Started doing down the tomatoes and peppers into salsa.

I'm planning on changing my entire wardrobe, so Sunday (sale! sale!) I'll spend the whole day looking for stylish coats and clothes.

I'm working on Labor day too, so I really don't have any special plans.  Also, it might be rainy, we have a chance for severe weather Sunday evening/night, and the wet weather might continue on  Monday.

I have an old TCSer on Facebook who is there this weekend.  It looks like they are having fun from the pictures!

I like the term "voluntold."
I'm adding it to my regular vocabulary.  My Mom voluntold me to make pasta salad because my step-dad asked. That lead to an 11pm run to the grocery store but oh well...yummy!
