My 5 month old kitten got spayed last Monday, and after 8 days is still acting as if she isn't feeling well. I have brought her back twice and the vet keeps insisting she's fine. She has started hiding in the closet the last couple days, and her fur is somewhat oily. Her wound looks fine.. 2 days after surgery, she started having twitches. Her ears, tail and skin on her back. She acted as if she was extremely itchy.( They gave us pain meds and Revolution for fleas to administer the day after the surgery, so I started that the next morning.) Wednesday, I brought her in because her wound had pink splotches around it so they gave antibiotics. Friday, after being on antibiotics, they switched her antibiotic because they thought she may be allergic to the last one... gave her a shot for the itchy-twitchies. It is now the following Tuesday and we are headed back because she has been hiding, and generally not feeling/acting like herself. Im requesting an x-ray to look inside to make sure nothing was left inside when they did the operation. Any suggestions?? Please help!

I'm sorry your cat isn't bouncing back, usually spays are routine.
I'd also ask for blood work, make sure she doesn't have an infection/fever.
And if the vet continues to brush off your concerns, then I'd get a second opinion.
Listen to your gut/instinct.

Thank you... we took her last evening to the vet and I requested an x-ray... it showed she was impacted with stool. They gave her another shot of antibiotics, pain shot, and an enema. She defecated about a 6plus " stool at the vet's and they told me she may be going more after coming home. She hasn't passed any more stool, and her temp is 102. I have to touch base with them this morning to let them know her progress.

Poor kitten! Hopefully she's on the mend now. Sounds like that first antibiotic did a number on her system.
