I am so happy for you and Kali. I wish her all the love and good health. Don't worry when ppl tell you she's 'just a cat.' I am surrounded by such ppl, including my landlady who has even struck one of the stray cats i care for. Some ppl are just mean and they don't understand love. I think ppl that have pets have a better understanding of this special bond. I have four cats, three are rescue cats. I also take care of some feral and stray cats. I love them all and I realize how much they need us. The whole world can stand on one end and i on the other, I'd still stand up for what I feel. I don't care what people say or think about my cats...at all! So be strong and lean on those who love all of you because your cat is a part of you. She's very beautiful and lucky to have you as her mommy. Thanks for showing her so much affection!

She looks wonderful.

I'm sure it makes all the difference if you go and visit them while they are in the vets. They know that they haven't been abandoned and they look forward to seeing your face.

I bet you can't wait until Monday.

So excited to have my baby back soon. In about 18 hours I'll have her in my arms and under strict supervision. Im going to get a smaller bowl so that I can measure how much shes drinking and seperate it from the dogs bowl. If she drinks from both, that's just extra water.
I have been helping my mother move out of our family home and even though it was long, exhausting and distracting, I couldnt keep randomly screaming "I GET MY BABY BACK TOMORROW!"

Good news, in 3-4 weeks we'll be moving into a bigger place (from a tiny granny flat to a 3 bedroom house!) The backyard is completely secured with a high fence that she cant jump over or get through. Im very excited. I will secure her in one room at a time before I let her roam, is that a good idea? What would be the best way to help her get used to moving. She adjusted pretty well when we first moved out from my mothers into our grannyflat but I think moving to a bigger place would be more to adjust to, specially with her now having one eye.

Anyway, thank you again for your continuing support. ♡

Yay, good for you and Kali. I just moved house with my colony of 20 cats, quite an adventure I can tell you. If you can get one room set up with her things before you move her into it that will help to reduce her stress. Having the familiar smells of her bed and cat tree and some of her favourite furniture from home will be comforting for her. It will also mean that she has one safe, quiet room to stay in while you move your stuff into the rest of the house.

Have you tried using a Feliway diffuser? If you plug this in an hour or two before Kali arrives the smell will help her to stay calm

I have a one-eyed cat and it doesn't seem to bother him at all. Cats adapt remarkably well, I'm sure she'll be herself again soon

Okay shes sleeping at the moment but shes been fantastic. Shes eaten twice, had her antibiotics, peed twice, had some treats, played, jumped around, ate some more and gave me cuddles. Shes happy to be home and I'm relieved the worst is over. Lots of pictures to come tomorrow. I think she's really happy to be sleeping with us tonight. Its been a big day and an even bigger week.
Shes taken my spot next to her daddy, now I'm considering sleeping at the end of the bed haha!

Hi everyone, think this will be the end to this thread. We went to get her stitches out, the vet is happy shes putting on weight, eating and sleeping properly. Shes back to her old self. Still not really interested in her water bowl but I just drown her food with water and the vet says that her hydration is great and I can just keep doing as I am and unless she stops eating and I cant get fluid into her then bring her back but she looks like my little girl is out of the woods. Shes even enjoying going out into the courtyard to sunbathe and adjusting to having one eye. I love her so much. Thank you everyone for your advice and kind words during this terrifying time. I couldnt be more grateful for everyones love and compassion.

Glad to hear Kali is doing so well.   Hopefully she won't need to use up any more of her "9 lives" for a long time.

Thank yoy everyone, shes also started drinking water from her bowl again so woohoo! I also bought Royale Cannin food for pregnant queens and kittens to help fatten her up and give her extra nutrition and she LOVES it. Im adding water to it to make it nice and soft but shes gobbling it up and already looking healthier and more energetic. :) I'm so proud of her!!

Have you heard of nature's variety Instinct food? It's really healthy. My youngest two kittens love that food. It's supposed to be good quality food without the carrageenan and guar gum. I too add water to the food to increase their intake of water.

Two weeks later and Kali is still doing fantastic. She's still eating 2-3 times a day. She's putting on a lot of weight, She's drinking water steadily and regularly, She's playing, She's hunting bugs and she's wrestling again with our dog. Also, the hair is growing slowly but surely. She's nicked the skin around her eye socket a couple of times but its healed very quickly. I'm very proud of her and also she isn't afraid of going outside. She's very familiar with everything out there. The first couple of nights we decide she could go out if she wanted to (she doesn't like pooping inside, she prefers doing it outside so it doesn't smell, haha), I had to go out with a torch and she was happy once the extra light was there. Now though, she doesn't need me, she's good at finding the door if something spooks her but she's a fighter. I swear, nothing changed with her. If I could show my past self how well Kali is doing 2 weeks after all that fiasco, I wouldn't have stressed so much. I thought she wouldn't want to climb anymore or balance on things. Her jumping is a little off but she's getting much better everyday. I thought she would be disabled. Like, there would be things that she would want to do anymore but she can. Animals adapt so well. Honestly, I should have called her Buffy because she can beat everything and is afraid of nothing.

Before her surgery, if Kali tried to eat our dogs food, Lola would rush up and just push her out of the way (never growl or attack) but now she knows Kali is fragile and needs lots of food, if Kali wants to eat out of Lola's bowl, she'll just sit behind her and wait for her to finish or join her. It's very sweet. I love my girls.
