Hi everyone! I didn't even know cat forums existed (normally a dog person) so I'm excited to be here. I've been lurking for a few days picking up all kinds of great information to enrich my boy's life as much as possible and finally decided to join 
I'm a recent highschool grad girl and animal lover from the Philadelphia area of PA. After making a tough decision that the canine life is not currently for me, I fell back into a childhood passion I've always had for cats and this past Friday went to an adoption event at a local kill shelter and came back with my 11 month old marble tabby boy and couldn't be happier! The morning after I brought him home, I finally decided his name would be Tobias, and even though sometimes they say the first few days should just be a trial period, I already can't imagine having any other animal companion in my life. He's an absolutely sweet boy, not very clinging but very loving and watchful, has great play drive, and he's warmed up to me amazingly. He took me by surprise in the shelter since I was sure I would come out with a young girl, but I had overlooked his cage and when the attendant gave him to me to hold and I read his information I fell in love. Unfortunately his surrounding circumstances were that he'd been abandoned in the lobby with no paperwork or supplies about a week ago. I adopted in the hopes of finding a furry companion as ESA to help cope with some tough emotional issues at the recommendation of my doctor and I've no doubt in my heart that Tobi is the right one.
