I had a phone call from my sister last night to say that one of her 4-year-old cats has been hit by a car and killed

She was crying and I was crying - it was so sad. He'd been missing for about 3 weeks

Apparantly a guy had seen Tigger lying by the road for the last few days and was worried that no-one had picked him up; so he stopped, took of the tag and rang my sister's number.

He's now buried under a rose bush at the end of her garden; and she says she feels better now he's home - not knowing where he was, or if anything had happened to him was worse than anything.

Tigger was also the father of my two cats, so at least he'll live on in them

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of Tigger. That was so kind of that man to take the time to check Tigger's tag and let your sister know what had happened to him.

I'm so sorry.

It was sure thoughtful of that man to stop and check the tag, though. Honestly, it's never occurred to me to do that when I have seen an animal by the side of the road. I think I will from now on, though.

I'm very sorry to hear about your sisters kitty. Sounds like you are both dealing with it the best you can. I'll be thinking about you.

Thanks for all the replies - Sorry for the delay in replying, I haven't had a chance to get on here for a while.

My sis is feeling better now; she has Tigger's sister and two springer spaniels to keep her busy; but nothing can replace poor old Tig
