Hello all. My wife and I are both life long cat owners. After losing our 20yr old "baby"  about 4 years ago we decided to buy 2 Siberians due to my wife's allergies. We read that Siberian's may be "hypoallergenic" and decided to try and help out her allergies. No such luck in our case but we still love our 2 four year old brother and sister from same litter. Just mentioned that because we are big advocates of rescuing cats from shelters but we could not find any pure bred Siberians in shelters here. Anyways after we had a horrible vet experience with our boy, I found this site while browsing the net on that sleepless night and it gave me a lot of comfort to see others had similar problems and the site was full of good advice. So I decided to join and learn and share what I know and just enjoy being part of a site about something we are all passionate about. Good luck to all of you and feline family members.

Welcome to The Cat Site.

Sorry to hear that your boy had such a bad time at the vets. Is he feeling better now?

We'd love to see some pictures of your cats.

Thank you. He is feeling better but I do not like that he is not where I think he should be. We use a vet who comes to our home and she is away this week. We took him to the place she uses when she cannot do what she needs to at our home. I guess she rents space or something like that. When she get back on Mon I hope her first stop will be here. I am going to have a better back up plan next time. I have tons of good pics of both of our "babies". Where should I post them. Forgive me my ignorance.

Hi RachelinAZ, We live in North Phoenix (Desert Ridge). I am learning the site and not yet sure how to get the photos to show like yours do. When I figure it out I will be posting a bunch. Our present cats are not bothered by the monsoon at all! But precious angel who passed 4 years ago at age 20 used to come looking for daddy if she heard rain or thunder. She would walk low to the ground in almost a crawl to me. My wife would call out "she's low riding! LOL. I never cried so hard in my life as when we lost her. Our Vet came to our house and she died in her moms arms when her time over. Thanks for the welcome. I liked your photos!

If you want to post a photo, click on the tool bar at the top of the Reply box. You'll see a smiley
. To the left of this is a "Film" mark for posting a video and to the left of this is a "Picture" mark for posting a photo.

I'd love to see some pictures of your fur kids.

I live in the monsoon belt too, but my cats don't let thunder or torrential rain slow them down.

Awwweeee. I can not wait to see them.

How do you like it up there... that far north? I am not sure I have seen much of that area except driving through.

Do any of your babies give you kisses or headbutts? Or special somethings?
Ana, gives me Eskimo kisses with her nose and if my son isn't paying attention... she lightly paws him onbhis nose. Only Aiden and I get loves from her.
Funny how they all had the same personalities when we got them and Elsie and Ana are pretty close in manners/actions but different. Esp being so close in age.
But they are all sooo different. They each have their favorite people. Walter... likes to sleep in the washer which we check everytime we do clothes.
Elsie and Ana HAVE to sleep, if just their heads under the sheets. Mew and Elsie always sleep in the kids room, if all 4 are not in there. Cracks me. (Louie, the dog always sleep with me. He never leaves my side. I have disabilities and he thinks he is protecting me).

My 4 babies are all under 6m old.
Wally being my baby, we adopted from a lady who found him at days old. He was dropper and bottle fed. As soon as he was bottle broke.. 3 weeks old give or take a few days or so. Not even potty trained.
I got him for my birthday at the end of May (my birthday is the beginning of June). My Wally Boo.

My other girl kitties, Ana and Elsie (are sisters), were 4 weeks old mid April. They were bottle raised. Found as newborns.
The lady wanted to get rid of them because she was getting a big very young puppy dog [one of the type who can be raised as guard dogs or... I can't remember what kind] and a couple big snakes.
She wanted the cats gone now. Makes me so sad. So happy she let me have vs letting them out wandering the streets or to an over crowded pound.

Mew was born in two weeks before the sisters. We got her the same day as Big Momma and Momma Kitty (they baby Wally and have acted like his moms. Lol!).
She too was found as a new born and droper and bottle fed. Her foster daddy didn't want to give her up but he was in income housing and no pets.
MEW is the LEAST friendly of my cats. She loves my son Aiden, my husband and our weirdo dog Louie. All males. So weird. She acts like she is a dog and as big as Louie. Lol. They wrestle and play. CRAZY!

I have a couple photos I took of Wallypoopers with my son Aiden today. I can not get my one browser that uploads to here. And a couple of Ms Elsie... she is so soft. I try to get Ana photos but she always chews on my phone case. Lol.
ONLY IE will let me upload to here... I have no idea why. I open it and it seems to start working and then something pops up saying the internet isn't working and closes. Grrr. I need to figure out why it is doing goofy things late at night.

I am hoping to find my son a red kitten. He plays Mindcraft and watches videos. One of his favorite characters is STAMPY LONGNOSE. His Anime or whatever they call their little people has red hair. He wants a red kitten to name Stampy Longnose lol!
So who knows. He is 7. We may have another baby at some point. I felt bad, none of the babies we got are red.

So, so Sorry, I took my night meds... getting a little loopy... and rammmbling.

I'd love to hear more about your kids.

Funny... less than 6 months (Mew might be 6 months old). I can't imagine life with out any of them.

Thanks for every ones interest. I will definitely get to the pics, kittens to adult, but right now Nicholas is still sick. Four days after leaving the nightmare vet visit we were waiting for him to poop and after improving and finally starting to eat better, he threw it up. So I called my wife and we decided to take him to Sonora Veterinary Services. This place is for emergency and surgical cases only, no appointments for check ups and such. Our reg vet has this as her go to place when she is out of town. Plus side is the Dr. said he sees nothing life threatening. But they need to rehydrate him and get his GI track moving. He is spending the night in the hospital. This place is 24/7 emergency place. His blood work looked good and he assured us that this is not a dying cat. But if they cannot get his food in and GI track moving so he poops the next step will be to check for some kind of blockage in his stomach. They have to scope for this because they cannot see things like tape (which he loves to chew to our dismay) on an x-ray but they are taking a stepped approach which is actually the way to go. All this costs money so thank God for care credit and the ability of my wife and I to work extra hours if necessary. I will spend whatever it takes to get my boy well. I really do like this place so far and although he is not at home with us tonight, my wife and I think he is where he needs to be and his sister will not have her brother pestering her although we can tell she misses him. Vet called at about 7:30 pm and updated us, they are working on him and observing all night and we will go in tomorrow and discuss what next if necessary. Needless to say we are both exhausted so I may not have the energy to post pics yet. Thanks for all your support.

Hey, I am in Desert Ridge as well. Unfortunately, My black kitty Minnie, was just diagnosed with Chylorothax so we're pretty devastated. I couldn't seem to start a post on the health forum :(

Hope your kitty gets well soon. I had just emailed Sonora today, to see if they have had any success rates dealing with this horrible condition, as VetMed kinda has been non communicative with us... not what we need at this stressful time!

she will turn 10 next month. Her litter brother in Texas that my son had, died of the same type of thing several months ago. We are waiting on the fungal test result yet, but everything else prone to cause this has been negative... tumor/cancer/heart. We have Minnie, and another litter sister, Mikki.

Oddly enough, the brother was diagnosed with a fungus that is more commonly found in the Ohio Valley hystoplasmosis (?) Well, the litter was born in Ohio..we moved out here...son moved to Texas. Soooo.. I would assume it is the hysto...but if it doesn't pinpoint it.... it's considered unknown cause and you get the chest cavity drained as it keeps filling with fluid.. and take a supplement "Rutin" in hopes it will help with the fluid and lung damage. Min acts fine since she has been drained..still eating ... same routine... but we watch her breathing to see if it seems she's filling again... she has to get a follow up end of next week, but I'm looking into another vet. Thank you for asking.

How are all of you adding photo albums to you posts below what you write? I wanted to put some pics of nick up but I can't figure out how to select the album and not show every pic individually.
