Fleas

Hi ,a kitten was   s old to me loaded  with fleas now my Maltese and mi-ki have them. I bought Zodiac flea and tick controller I put it on all three,  2 days ago and I see they are still scratching I called my vet and he recommended ACTIVYL I called Merck and thy said I could use it even though I had used the Zodiac The problem is it's only sold by vet's  I couldn't find one vet that carried it,   My vet had one  for my kitten but none for my dogs and you can't use cats on dogs -can't find it on line.as I said only sold by vet's.The vet said I could use Revolution but the one with out tick control? ANY SOLUTIONS PLEASE?????

First off, I would give them all a bath. Use Dawn dishwashing liquid - the original blue type. That will help get rid of any residual fleas on your pets. Also vacuum your whole house thoroughly. The cyclonic action of the vacuum kills fleas, although you could spray flea spray in the bag just as an extra precaution. I use Revolution and it is excellent but I do not know about using it so closely behind another product.

If you can get food grade diotamaceous earth , sprinkle a little on their wet food. It kills the tape worms that are part of a fleas life cycle.

Getting ahead of it by getting rid of the fleas on your critters and in the house is the key.
