I need a cheap one that will take clear photos. Mainly so I can clearly photograph all my cats and other things too. You guys are always posting photos..so which one do you think out of these. They are all I can afford. Will be a Christmas present for me.

OK you see my Sig, that's the wal-mart one
lol it sucks big time. Every 30 photos we take
only about 2 come out good enough to see but
like you can tell they are still fuzzy.

I'm looking for a new camera too, but I advise against
the Wal-mart's 32 dollar one from experience.

Edited to add: the photo's show up only that
good when they are as small as I have them there
they come out really bad when original size.

Decisions! Decisions!

I looked at the descriptions, and I think I'd favour the Logitec, though either of the Vivitars look decent, too. I have one caution, though...and that is, unless I have missed something, none of these offers Zoom, which means it will be difficult, at best, to get closeups. One thing that's attractive about the Logitech is the claim about battery life. (My HP eats batteries for breakfast, though that's the only complaint I have.)

Another thing you might want to be cautious about is the software offered for viewing and manipulating your images. I don't recognize the names, but that doesn't mean a great deal, because my knowledge in this area is limited to one that I know and find very nice to use (ACDSee), and another that I have encountered, which you couldn't pay me enough to use (Camedia). It was that experience that made me wary.

Anyway, I hope you find these comments useful. We'll look forward to pics

Edit: Yeah, I wasn't real impressed with the $32 job -- for a start I didn't recognize the name, though that's not necessarily an indicator -- only one more reason for caution.

Further Edit: The higher the megapixel count, the sharper the picture, so none of these is going to be super sharp. You need to get over 2 megapixels before you get nice clear pictures, and the higher you get the better you get. (The pixels are the dots of which the picture is made up: the more of them there are squished into the image, the finer the detail can be.)

Amber, you can get a much better camera for $20-30 more at ebay. And many of the sellers there will let you send money orders if you don't have a checking account or credit/debit card. You'd be better off to save a few more weeks and go this route.

I've heard a lot of bad reviews on the polaroid digi's.

Check this one out on Ebay for a buy now price of $119. It's a 2.1 mega pixel
HP Digital Camera

Digital Land 2.3 MP Camera $72

HP 2.1MP Camera Buy Now $99

Kodak 2 MP Buy now $119 Excellent Camera!

Some of them say bidding has ended but they are buy now. And plus if you go to that sellers store, they usually always have the same item still available.

I know...but I never order online I dont want to risk it. Eventually I will be getting another job soon since grandma's finally able to go back to work. I'm gonna let my aunt risk it *evil grin* since she doesnt care and then pay her back. Thanks though..I had forgotten about ebay. I plan to try it once I have a income again. My uncle uses it to by antiques alot so he can help show me how to do it safely.

I have a logitec quickcam(my only current source of pics for online) and mouse. I really like both of them. Maybe that cam or one similar by them will be good.
I had totally forgot about zoom! Thank you!
I didnt know anything about software for editing either. I have microsoft picture it express though for editing.
I cant wait to get one. I keep putting it off cause its so confusing with all the choices...then lastnight it hit me..DUH! You guys are always posting photos!
Ok I will try to make sure I get over 2 if I can afford it. I'm gonna wait until after I get my christmas money. With that I should be better off to get a better camara. The one I have now is a old Kodak star 110 which I've had since 5th grade...ooooold camara lol. That's another reason for a new one and why Im trying to not rush into which one I buy.

Oh my that is an old camera! Do they still make film for them? I've had a couple of those in the past too and they lasted forever it seemed. I think I ended up losing them.

Surprisingly yes. I get it at walmart. Only thing is to get them develped at walmart they have to be sent off for a few days unless I do the one hour. Odd.

I also like the elph camaras. I just cant afford the digital elph...it's almost $300!!!!!

Stupid Question:
With a digital the only way to print out/develop the photos is to have a printer right?

No, if you use a smart media card (which are very cheap now, they used to be $$$) you can take the card out of the camera and bring it to some photo developing places and they will make prints for you. Rite Aid and Eckerd pharmacies offer this service, I'm sure lots more do too.

Smart media cards also add the # of photos you can hold in your camera before you run out of memory. We've got a 128 MB card, which cost $20, and holds 195 pictures!

Ok great! My printer isnt made for photos and the ink too much anyway. Wondering how to print them was also holding me back from getting one.

The Canon A300 that you linked to is a good non-zoom digicam, but in that price range ($185), you might also consider the Canon A60 at $194.

For the extra $9, the A60 gives you:
- 3x optical zoom, from semi-wide angle to short telephoto - much more versatility in framing your shots
- longer shutter speeds (15sec vs. 1sec) - allows for interesting night shots
- manual focus - for the times that on-camera autofocus can't get a lock
- aperture & shutter priority shooting modes - allows you more control over depth of focus & motion blur in your shots

The A60's 2MP vs. the A300's 3MP is somewhat of a disadvantage, but generally 2MP w/zoom is more useful than 3MP non-zoom. 2MP is fine for 4x6" prints and OK for 5x7".

Canon A60 @walmart.com: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...A3959%3A124473

If you can find the Canon A40 on closeout, that would be a good choice as well - it's the predecessor to the A60 and has almost all the same features.
