So good! It's got a smoky, yet a sweet taste, lighter than maple syrup. We were over at the market during lunch and the guy gave us spoonful to try. And I bought a small jar. We're grilling pork chops tonight for dinner and I'm going to try the hickory syrup on the chops. He gave me a recipe for a balsamic vinegar hickory syrup salad dressing, which I'm going to try on our yellow squash planks tonight too. And a recipe for a lemon-butter chicken made with the syrup.
This stuff is really good! Has anybody heard of it?
On another note, Rick and I each had a hot sausage sandwich. We walked out with 1-1/2 bushels of Red Haven peaches, a chocolate whoopie pie with peanut butter filling for me, two large lemon-filled cookies for Rick, and a half-pound of meat sticks for Rick. A bag of very nice mushrooms and another small bag of garlic heads.
