These things used to give me nightmares as a kid. They are HUGE and scary, and when one landed on my head, I screamed for a good 10 minutes (I was 8 years old), running and crying and flailing around the apartment complex that we lived in that neighbors almost called the emergency number. Once my parents wanted to take us to a water theme park (our favorite). We were all dressed up and ready to go, and suddenly, my sister clung to my arm. We both decided we didn't want to go to the theme park anymore.
Why? There was a moth on the wall of the narrow hallway that we had to pass by to get to the lobby. My amused parents even walked near the moth to show us that it's nothing to be afraid of, but we wouldn't budge. They even offered to stand between us and the moth while we crossed, but nope. You couldn't convince us to walk that way at all. Eventually they gave up and we played cards at home instead.
And the moth never moved once.
